Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi officially announced by Sprint, coming out next week
We told you last month that Sprint will be launching the first ever Honeycomb tablet known as Motorola XOOM, and at the moment it’s available at Verizon Wireless and several retailers in USA. Today, Sprint officially announced the Motorola XOOM which is coming out on May 8th for $599. Only bad news is that the tablet is neither 3G nor 4G, it’s Wi-Fi only tablet. Rumor: Motorola to reduce Xoom shipments gradually – Xoom 2 expected?
Motorola is expected to ship 700,000-800,000 units of their first Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet Xoom in the first quarter of 2011. With total shipment of 200,000 units in the month of February, which should reach 400,000-500,000 at the end of month of march, their forecast looks good according to upstream suppliers.

Motorola XOOM is the first tablet powered by the new Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system. This device was announced at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas.
