YI Horizon VR180 Camera with 5.7K stereoscopic 3D video and photo capture, 4K live streaming announced

Along with the Lenovo Mirage camera, Google in partnership with YI Technology introduced YI Horizon VR180 Camera at the CES 2018. It leverages Google’s new VR180 format so that the stereoscopic 3-D camera captures high-resolution, immersive 3D video in 5.7K resolution at 30 frames per second (fps). It also features instant in-device stitching and supports live streaming at 4k resolution.

Lenovo Mirage Solo standalone Daydream VR headset, Mirage VR streaming camera announced

Lenovo at the on-going CES 2018 show has announced the Mirage Solo standalone Daydream VR, Mirage VR streaming camera. Unlike the regular VR, the Mirage Solo doesn’t need a smartphone. The Mirage VR camera is a point and shoot camera designed to live stream 180-degree VR video. 

Google to bring Assistant to Smart Displays, more headphones and Android Auto

At the CES 2018 event, Google announced wide-range of assistant enhancements and new features. In association with Qualcomm, Google will be bringing Assistant to ‘smart displays’ powered by the Android Things. We have already seen Lenovo Smart Display powered by the Qualcomm SDA624 SoC launch. 

Xiaomi Mi Router 3C and Mi Wi-Fi Repeater 2 get a permanent price cut India

Xiaomi launched the Mi Router 3C, a budget router in India back in May last year for Rs. 1199 and the Mi Wi-Fi Repeater 2 was launched in June for Rs. 999 . During festive sales it offered discount on the router and the repeater, now it has announced a permanent Rs.200 temporary price cut for both.

Qualcomm introduces new Home Hub platforms supporting Google’s Android Things

Qualcomm today announced two Home Hub platforms supporting Google’s Android Things; the SDA624 and SDA212 SoCs. The chips are designed with an aim to offer developers and OEMs a cost-effective way to develop home hubs featuring Google services such as the Google Assistant.

HTC VIVE Pro with dual-OLED displays and VIVE Wireless Adaptor announced

HTC at the CES 2018 show has introduced the VIVE Pro and VIVE Wireless adaptor. Also, the company has also announced a radical redesign of Viveport VR and Vive Video. These improvements bring in the much desired higher resolution, improved audio, wireless freedom, and immersive content discovery.
