First Android Oreo (Go edition) phones, new Android One phones will be announced at MWC 2018 confirms Google

Google announced Android Go back in May last year for low-cost Android devices that have 512MB to 1GB of RAM, and later in December it was renamed to Android Oreo (Go Edition) and said that Android Go edition smartphones would be available from early 2018. Today Google has announced that OEMs will introduced the first set of Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphones at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona next week. It also said that these phones will cost less than $50 (Rs. 3250 approx.)

Micromax said to launch Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone this January for Rs. 2000

Android Oreo (Go Edition) is Google’s trim down version of Android for low-cost phones with 512MB to 1GB RAM. The company announced the project back in May and said that it would be available from early 2018. The company is all set to launch the first phone in India in partnership with Micromax later this month, according to a new report. Google at the I/O 2017 announced Android Go for low-cost Android devices that have 512MB to 1GB of RAM offering smooth and efficient software experience, better data management, better saving and more. Today at the Google For India 2017 in the country it has announced that this will be called Android Oreo (Go edition) and will be based on Android 8.1 (Oreo).
