Nokia Lumia 520 and 720 price revealed for UK, coming in April

Both the Nokia Lumia 520 and the Lumia 720 are available for pre-order in UK from online retailer Clove. Both these devices were announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this week. The Lumia 520 has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS display and the Lumia 720 comes with a 4.3-inch  (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack LCD display. LG Optimus F7 Hands On

LG showed off its new F7 handset here at the Mobile World Congress. The handset is a part of their upper middle range strategy and has a large 4.7″ 720p display.

The screen is of the IPS variety and offers pretty good viewing angles. We quite liked the feel of the device with runs on Android 4.1.2 though it would benefit from the use of slightly higher end materials. Continue reading “LG Optimus F7 Hands On”

LG Optimus L3 II global roll out begins this week starting from Brazil


LG unveiled the Optimus L3 II along with the other L Series II devices last month, and the LG Optimus L7 II went on sale first Russia. Now LG has announced that the Optimus L3 II would go on sale globally from this week. LG showcased all the L Series II devices and the new F Series devices at the MWC 2013 this week. LG Optimus G launched in India for Rs. 34500


LG has officially launched the Optimus G (E975) in India. The Optimus G went on sale in India last week. It comes with a 4.7-inch (1280 x 768 pixels) True HD IPS + Display with 15:9 aspect ratio, 550 nits brightness and Gorilla Glass 2 protection, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with LG  Optimus 3.0 UI on top. GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2013 Winners announced


The GSM Association has announced the winners for the 18th annual Global Mobile Awards at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The nominees for the Global Mobile Awards 2013 were announced earlier this month. Even though the Apple for iPhone 5 was a tough contender  in the best smartphone segment, the Samsung Galaxy S3 bagged the Best Smartphone of the Year award. Google Nexus 7 grabbed the Best Mobile Tablet of the year award beating the iPad and the iPad mini, and the Nokia Asha 305 won the best entry-level / feature phone award. Asus MeMO Pad 7-inch Tablet with Android 4.1 launched in India for Rs. 9999

Asus has launched the MeMo Pad (ME172V) in India. It was announced last month, and comes with a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, powered by  a 1GHz WonderMedia PRIZM WM8950 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 1MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor, 720p HD video capture at 30 fps and ƒ/2.0 aperture. Adobe Photoshop Touch released for iPhone and Android Smartphones

Adobe released the Photoshop Touch for Android Tablets back in November 2011 along range of Tablet apps, and the Photoshop Touch for iPad was released last February. Now the Adobe has released Photoshop Touch for iPhone and Android smartphones. The Photoshop Touch lets you transform images with core Photoshop features. Twitter for Windows Phone updated with new design and features

Twitter has finally updated the Twitter app for Windows Phone. The Twitter for Windows Phone v2.0 update brings a new design with Home, Connect, Discover and Me tabs that was released for Twitter for Android and iOS back in December 2011. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 310 and Tab 2 311 get a price cut, now available for Rs. 15999 and Rs. 12599


Samsung India has cut the price of both their 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2 Android tablets. The Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S Duos smartphones got a price cut earlier this month. Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 2 310 in India back in May last year at a MOP of Rs. 19,500 and the Wi-Fi only variant, the Galaxy Tab 2 311 went on sale in India couple of weeks back at Rs. 13,900. Samsung Galaxy Express Hands On

Here at the Mobile World Congress, Samsung showcased its product portfolio that includes the Galaxy Express. One of its newest phones, it has a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus capactive screen which looks quite nice though slightly blurred out because of the low pixel density.

The size of the phone is on the larger side but it manages to fit in well in the hand. The smooth curves mean that it fits comfortably well in the hand though the cheap plastic used doesn’t look too good.  Continue reading “Samsung Galaxy Express Hands On”

Walking through the Samsung booth at the Mobile World Congress we ran into the Samsung Fame. Part of the new budget range of Android handsets, the phone looks quite interesting.

Nokia 301 hands on impressions

The Nokia 301 is one of the two low end feature phones that Nokia announced at the Mobile World Congress 2013. The 301 is not just a feature phone but a feature rich phone, made for the ever hungry budget user, wanting for more features with as little expenditure possible. According to us, the Nokia 301 fits that bill very well.
