Round 2 of the SmartFone 2013 championship had begun yesterday with a really close competition between the LG G2 vs Nokia Lumia 1020, and today it’s the turn of Google Nexus 5 and the Sony Xperia Z1 to fight it out in our battleground. After winning massively over the iPhone 5s, the Nexus 5 is in contention with the Xperia Z1 which initially trailed so close with the Note 3 and later pulled a massive lead out of the hat. Both these devices are flagships and have their own advantages and disadvantages, so which one do you want to vote for? Time to decide!

For some, the Sony Xperia Z1 might have the better hardware overall, in terms of what one would want in a flagship. It has a better camera, a better and premium build quality and above all, a higher capacity battery that actually performs great. Nexus 5 has similar innards and has a subjectively better display, however the camera is poorer with less features, but the promise of a Nexus is really important for some, who want to own the best Pure Android device without any adulteration from the OEMs like what Sony has done with their UI and default apps. But yeah, people might prefer the latter too at the same time. This is a battle of preferences indeed, because unlike earlier contests, we can never out right say that the Sony Xperia Z1 is better than the Nexus 5 or vice versa. So, here you go, the polls are out there, do vote and register your preferences so that the best phone may qualify for the all important final!
