LG reports Q1 2014 earnings, ships 12.3 million smartphones, confirms G3 launch for Q2
LG Electronics has announced their earnings for Q1 2014, in which it has reported net profit of 92.60 billion Won (US$ 86.62 million) with operating profits of 504 billion Won (US$ 471.47 million). Mobile communications sector earned revenues of 3.41 trillion Korean Won (US$ 3.1 billion), a 6% increase YoY, but sales decreased by 5% QoQ. Operating profit increased due to the launch of G Pro 2 in the domestic market and more efficient marketing spending, LG said.

TDSAT allows 3G Intra-circle roaming pacts between Airtel, Vodafone and Idea
The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) today cleared the 3G intra-circle roaming agreements signed between Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular by saying that the 3G intra-circle-roaming (ICR) does not violate the Unified Access Service Licence (UASL) license, reports ET. It has also quashed all penalties imposed by the Department of Telecom (DoT) on these operators last year.

HTC M8 Ace to reportedly come with plastic build and lower price tag
HTC M8 Ace surfaced in an image from @evleaks earlier this month. Now engadget reports that the HTC M8 Ace, a variant of the HTC One M8 will come with plastic unibody build instead of aluminium build. The HTC M8 Ace would have a 5-inch 1080p display and would be powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor similar to the One M8, according to the report. Blackphone to be powered by Nvidia Tegra 4i processor
Blackphone will feature Nvidia’s Tegra 4i chipset to handle application processing and the connectivity. Announced at the MWC 2014, the phone which is touted as the most secure phone. SGP, a joint venture of Silent Circle and Geeksphone have developed the Blackphone which went for pre order in February 24 costs $629 and will ship from June in US and Europe.

Samsung reports profit of $8.2 billion in Q1 2014
Samsung just reported its earnings for Q1 2014, in which the company has managed to make operating profit of 8.49 trillion won ($8.2 billion) for the quarter ended March 31st. It has reported net profit of 7.57 trillion won ($7.3 billion) and revenues of 53.68 trillion won, down by 9% from 59.28 trillion won in the fourth quarter of 2013.
