Silent Circle buys Geeksphone, will unveil more device at MWC

Silent Circle has acquired Geeksphone in order to give full control over the Blackphone project. The duo had partnered to launch the privacy focused Android smartphone last year at MWC.

Blackphone to be powered by Nvidia Tegra 4i processor

Blackphone will feature Nvidia’s Tegra 4i chipset to handle application processing and the connectivity. Announced at the MWC 2014, the phone which is touted as the most secure phone. SGP, a joint venture of Silent Circle and Geeksphone have developed the Blackphone which went for pre order in February 24 costs $629 and will ship from June in US and Europe.

Blackphone with secured Android-based PrivatOS announced, launching at MWC next month

Silent Circle, global encrypted communications service based in Washington D.C and the Spanish Android smartphone maker Geeksphone has announced Blackphone,  in their first Switzerland-based joint venture. This is the world’s first smartphone with that would offer complete security, privacy and control to its users, says the company. This carrier and vendor-independent smartphone is powered by a security-oriented Android build called PrivatOS, but without compromising on security.
