Acer Iconia One 7 B1-730HD with 7-inch HD display launched in India for Rs. 8499
Acer launched the Iconia A1-713 and the Iconia A1-830 tablets in India recently. Now the company has launched the Iconia One 7 (B1-730) in India, exclusively on Amazon.in. It was announced back in April and packs a 7-inch (1280 × 800 pixels) HD display, powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS that is upgradeable to Android 4.4 (KitKat). After the most popular Mi 3 smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 4 is the company’s latest flagship smartphone that was unveiled in China last month. Even though the Mi 4 has the same 5-inch 1080p display, similar to the Mi 3 with Corning Gorilla glass protection, the design and the internals have been upgraded. We managed to one from China. Acer Iconia A3-A20, successor of last year’s Iconia A3 (A10) has surfaced on the official Acer website and official online store. It has the same 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display, but this is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MT8127A processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Samsung acquires home automation company SmartThings
Samsung Electronics has acquired SmartThings, a home automation company that builds open platform for the Internet of Things (IoT). It will operate as an independent company within Samsung’s Open Innovation Center group . The team will remain the same and will relocate to a new headquarters in Palo Alto, CA, said CEO of SmartThings, Alex Hawkinson on their official blog. Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo A290, the latest Micromax smartphones in the Canvas series is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 4.7-inch HD display, powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, compared to the 16-megapixel camera on the Canvas Knight, but this has the same 5-megapixel front-facing camera. MIUI V6 compared to V5 in series of screenshots
Xiaomi isn’t known just for the incredibly well priced phones it sells. Another aspect that has added value to the company’s popularity is the MIUI ROM.
MIUI started off an a ROM for the Mi Phone or the first phone from Xiaomi, back in 2011. However, the ROM got so popular that more than a 100 devices from various manufacturers (other than Xiaomi) gained official MIUI support.

When talking clone makers, China’s Goophone is the one that comes to mind before any other manufacturer. Goophone has been cloning flagship phones from Apple, Samsung, etc. for years now, and according to some the maker has gained quite a reputation for that. Obi Octopus S520 Review
Obi Mobiles is a relatively new and unknown brand in India. Riding on a media wave created by one of its investors, ex-Apple CEO John Sculley, the newly founded company launched its first ambitious product for the Indian market, a mid range device called the Obi Octopus S520. Sporting a 5 inch HD display, an 8 MP camera and the MediaTek Octa core processor (hence the name), the device is priced at Rs. 11,990, which is less for what it offers. By undercutting the competition, Obi aims to stand out, but will that be enough for people to notice a new brand? Lets find out in our full review.
