Motorola started Android 5.1 (Lollipop) soak test for Moto X (2nd Gen) last month in Brazil. It started Android 5.1 soak tests in France and Germany for the Moto X (1st) gen last week. Now, Motorola’s Senior Director of Software Product Management, David Schuster has announced that the soak tests has been expanded to several countries. The Samsung Galaxy Tab E has a 9.6-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display, is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Nest Cam smart security camera goes official

Nest Labs, a Google company has officially introduced Nest Cam, a security camera, after it was leaked last week. It can stream 1080p videos at 30 fps directly to a phone, tablet or a laptop. This is somewhat like a successor of the Dropcam that the company acquired last year. It has also upgraded Nest app to version 5.0 for iOS, Android and Web that now lets you control your Nest Thermostat, Nest Protect, Nest Cam and Dropcam from one place. Micromax has launched Canvas Sliver 5, the company’s slimmest smartphone in the Canvas series. It has a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX219 sensor, Blue Glass Filter, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Micromax says that it is the slimmest smartphone ever at 5.1mm thickness end-to-end without any bumps. OnePlus One gets a new Cyanogen OS 12 incremental update to fix touchscreen issues

OnePlus One has received a new Cyanogen OS 12.0 incremental update to fix touchscreen sensitivity issues, as the company promised last month. The company already said that it has been working with Synaptics, developer of touch and biometrics hardware to fix the bug. The build YNG1TAS2I3 also fixes Bluetooth connectivity when connecting to in-car system and issues in sending MMS. Twitter has announced the acquisition of a Whetlab, a startup focused on machine learning technology. Whetlab confirmed the acquisition on its website while Twitter announced it via an official tweet.

Stephen Elop & Jo Harlow quit Microsoft as part of organization reshuffle

In a major organization reshuffle, Microsoft has announced the departure of two key executives. Stephen Elop, ex CEO of Nokia, had helmed the sale of the erstwhile smartphone giant to Microsoft. Jo Harlow, a high ranking member of the Nokia leadership, is also departing from the company. Harlow reported directly to Stephen Elop and was instrumental in the decision to kill future feature phones and also the Android powered X series of phones.
