Micromax has launched Canvas Selfie, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash, similar to the HTC Desire Eye. It also has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a Sony sensor. Other features include, 4.7-inch HD display, 1.7 GHz True Octa-Core processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS, dual SIM support and 3G connectivity. Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax launched the phone with the IPTL stars Sania Mirza, Ana Ivanovic, Kristina Mladenovic and Daniela Hantuchova. LG launched the LG G3 Beat smartphone in India at Rs. 25,000 back in September. We brought you the review of LG G3 Beat recently. Here we have the battery test results of the smartphone. The LG G3 Beat  has a 2540mAh removable Lithium Polymer battery, compared to 3,000mAh battery on the LG G3. Lenovo has launched TAB S8, the company’s latest top-end tablet in the S series with voice calling capabilities exclusively on Flipkart. It was announced at the IFA 2014 back in September and packs a 8-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) full HD display based on one-glass-solution technology , powered by a quad-core Intel Atom (Z3745) processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera. Acer Liquid Jade and Triple SIM Liquid E700 launched in India for Rs. 16999 and Rs. 11999

Acer has launched Liquid Jade and Liquid E700, the company’s latest smartphones in the Liquid series in India. The Liquid Jade has a has a 5-inch HD IPS display based on Zero Air Gap technology with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Liquid E700 too comes with a 5-inch HD display. Both these are powered by a quad-core processors and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). The Liquid Jade has a 13-megapixel rear camera with 0.3s focus time, F1.8 aperture, LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy S5 starts receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop update in Korea

Samsung has started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update to Galaxy S5 devices in South Korea. Galaxy S5 models of Korean mobile carriers SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus  are receiving the Lollipop update from December 5th.

Last night, news broke of a woman passenger allegedly raped by a Uber driver, in New Delhi. Hearing accounts of rape and violence against women is not new in this country, sadly, but what makes this even more shocking is the association with Uber, a disruptive mobile-first taxi platform that claims to have the “safest rides on the road“. According to the well-funded American startup’s website, safety is the second most important thing you need to know about them, right after the app, one of the most important user-facing features of their platform. For a company that prides itself on safety features, this is terrible news. Why and how did Uber let this happen? There are many answers to this question, but let’s give them a shot of reality first, with a warm message they can resonate with, “Welcome to India.”.

Galaxy Note Edge UK launch delayed again?

The rollout of the Galaxy Note Edge is fast turning into Samsung’s saga of the year as the unique twin of the Galaxy Note 4 could be delayed yet again. We’ve already seen the handset launch slip with the initial launch rumoured for the middle of November before being pushed back to November 28 and then again to December 12th. The latest information we have comes directly from Samsung’s UK online store and suggests the launch may be pushed back a further 5 days with Note Edge shipments set to begin on December 17th.
