
HTC just announced the U11 Life along with the U11+ just as expected. The U11 Life is part of the Google’s Android One program and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo, but HTC is also launching the U11 Life with HTC’s Sense software in North America.

Xiaomi along with the Redmi Y1, also launched the cheaper Redmi Y1 Lite smartphone in India. It was introduced as Redmi Note 5A in China back in August and packs a 5.5-inch HD screen, is powered by a Snapdragon 425 with 2GB RAM, comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash with PDAF and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. OPPO just launched F5, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in India. It has a 6-inch full HD+ 18:9 full-screen display and 20-megapixel front-facing camera with A.I. beauty recognition technology that scan 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie shot perfectly and also offers bokeh effect. Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Y1, the company’s latest budget smartphone in the new ‘Redmi Y’ series in India, as it had promised. As expected, it is the re-branded Redmi Note 5A smartphone that was introduced in China in August. It has a 5.5-inch HD screen, is powered by Snapdragon 435 Mobile Platform, runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with MIUI on top, packs a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash for both. Xiaomi officially announced the latest version of its popular android skin MIUI along with Mi 5X back in July, Redmi Note 4 was amongst the first devices to receive MIUI 9 based Global beta ROM update on 11 Aug, and Xiaomi rolled out Global Beta ROM to all devices by Sep end in three batches. Samsung has officially announced the Android 8.0 Oreo beta update for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The Android 8.0 Oreo brings Galaxy experience U.X 9.0 replacing the previous 8.5 version and brings many new additions and features on board.

It was introduced as Enjoy 7 Plus in China back in April and for the global markets as Y7 Prime in June. Google has announced that assistant support for Italian and Spanish will be rolled out in the coming weeks just as it had promised at the I/O 2017 event. Google said that Spanish both in Latin America and Spain would be available.

Samsung today introduced a new Galaxy Note8 Enterprise edition which is aimed at businesses and enterprise. Samsung had launched the original Note8 back in August, and the company is now promoting the enterprise edition as truly “business-first” offering for the product line.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has finally released draft regulations on civil use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones) in India. This will also enable commercial use of drones for tasks like photography, doorstep delivery, medical uses and even passenger transport, Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju said on Wednesday.

Xiaomi announced the latest iteration of its android skin on 25th July in an event in China with new features like Smart Assistant, Split Screen and Universal Image Search. MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM started rolling out to Global ROM users on 11th July but many of these features were exclusive to MIUI China ROM till now. Razer today announced the most expected Razer Phone at an event in London, months after it acquired Nexbit. The phone packs a 5.72-inch Quad HD 120 Hz UltraMotion display delivering fastest refresh rates and smooth graphics suitable for gaming. UltraMotion’s adaptive refresh technology synchronizes the GPU and display to remove image tearing or lag while driving efficient power usage, says Razer.

Moto India has sent out invites for the the launch of Moto X4 smartphone in the Moto X series in India on November 13th. The phone was supposed to launch on October 3rd, but it was postponed later. It was unveiled IFA event recently and packs dual 12MP and 8MP rear cameras to take images with blurred background, portraits, selective black and white and has dual Autofocus Pixel technology for faster focus in low light. A week after updating the Kindle app, Amazon has released Kindle Lite app for Android in Beta for low-end Android smartphones. Amazon says that the app has been crafted specially for Indian readers. The app is less than 2MB in size so takes significantly less space on the smartphone, works smoothly even on 2G networks and lets you monitor your data usage and manage storage.
