Indian Government to ban 59 Chinese apps including TikTok permanently; TikTok cuts workforce in India

Back in June last year the Indian Government announced a ban on 59 Chinese mobile apps including TikTok and Helo saying that they are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order. Now  there are reports that says that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has sent new notice to these apps last week saying that their answers and clarifications following the ban were found to be inadequate, so the temporary block has now been made permanent. Carl Pei launches new smart venture called ‘NOTHING’; first smart devices coming in H1 2021

Carl Pei, who co-founded OnePlus today launched ‘Nothing’, which he says is a new forward-thinking consumer technology company based in London. This comes after receiving $7 million (approx Rs. 52 crores) in a Seed funding round from a list of high-profile investors such as Tony Fadell, Casey Neistat, Kevin Lin, Steve Huffman and Josh Buckley for the new hardware venture. Last week, the company raised undisclosed funding from CRED Founder Kunal Shah.

POCO has confirmed the launch of POCO M3 smartphone in India on February 2nd on Flipkart. This was introduced back in November last year and packs a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD Dotdrop screen with 90.34% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 662 SoC, 48-megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash along with a 2-megapixel 4cm macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Google Lens update adds offline translation support

Google is rolling out a new update to the Lens app, adding the ability to translate text without an internet connection. Similar to how it works on the Translate app, users can instantly translate texts in real life into their preferred language in Google Lens without needing to be online.

According to Zepp app code, a new device codenamed “Pangu”  and model number “XMSH16HM”. The Firmware and Resources files have revealed new features in the Mi Band 6. The “XMSH16HM” is the China NFC version and there is also “XMSH15HM” is the global version without NFC. Samsung expands ECG and blood pressure tracking support in Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Watch 3 to 31 more countries

Last year, Samsung introduced the ability to measure Blood pressure and track an Electrocardiogram (ECG) on the Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch 3 for their customers in South Korea. They have now received the required certification to expand the feature support to 31 more countries.

Samsung introduces new Galaxy A02 with 6.5-inch Infinity-V Display, 5000mAh battery

Samsung has silently introduced a new Galaxy A02 (SM-A022F) smartphone after a lot of rumours. This comes after last year’s Galaxy A02 model, but the specifications are different even though it retains the 6.5-inch HD+ TFT Infinity-V Display and the 5,000mAh battery. It is powered by MediaTek MT6739 SoC compared to Snapdragon 450 SoC in the last year’s model, feature 13MP main + 2MP macro camera and a 5MP front camera. Motorola edge s with 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz display, Snapdragon 870 5G, dual front cameras, 5000mAh battery announced

Motorola just announced its edge s smartphone in China, as it had promised. It has a 6.7-inch 21:9 aspect ratito Full HD+ LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate and 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel 100° ultra-wide front cameras inside the punch hole. The front camera also has a feature that can take a selfie for 15 seconds to measure the heart rate. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 870 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM, 5G SA/NSA support with Snapdragon X55 Modem and runs Android 11. The company says that it has scored 680,000 points on AnTuTu offering 12% improved CPU performance and 10% GPU improvements.
