Apple introduces MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone 12 series, priced at Rs. 10900 in India

Apple has introduced a new MagSafe Battery Pack for the iPhone 12 series, months after releasing the phone and other MagSafe accessories. Usually the phone launches a battery case for the iPhone, this time the MagSafe Battery Pack magnetically attaches to the back of the iPhone. To remove it, you just need to gently pull it off the back of your device.

The company says that it is compatible with iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max offering additional hours of battery life, without mentioning any numbers. When you attach the Battery Pack to the iPhone, it will automatically begin to charge your iPhone and a charging status appears on the Lock screen (iOS 14.7 or later).

It doesn’t come with a cable in the box, so you need to use the cable that comes with the iPhone to charge it. You need to use a 20W or higher USB power adapter to charge the battery pack, and Apple says that it can charge even faster when coupled with a 27W or higher charger, like those that ship with a MacBook.

It has pass-through charging so that you can charge both the iPhone and MagSafe Battery Pack at the same time. When charging on the go, the MagSafe Battery Pack can charge the iPhone with up to 5W of power. If connected to a 20W or higher power source, it can charge with up to 15W of power.

The Apple MagSafe battery pack for the iPhone 12 series is priced US$99 (Rs. 7,380 approx.) and is available to order today, with deliveries starting from July 19th. It costs Rs. 10,900 in India, but the availability is not known yet.
