Huawei smartphones with model numbers PIC-AL00, PIC-TL00, BAC-AL00 and BAC-TL00 have been certified by TENAA in China. These are expected to be Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus, successors of Nova and Nova Plus smartphones that were unveiled last year. The image shows the phones in Rose Gold colors with 2.5D curved glass display, unibody metal design, dual rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the back. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla 3 protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 652 processor and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $52.9 billion with a net profit of $11.0 billion in their earnings for the financial year Q2 2017 that ended April 1, 2017. Revenues were up 4.54% year-over-year. Apple reported quarterly earnings per diluted share of $2.10 compared to diluted share of $1.90 in the year-ago quarter. During earnings call Tim Cook said that iPhone sales were line in line with their expectations, and they are seeing continued strong demand for iPhone 7 Plus. He also said that active installed base of iPhones grew by double digits year over year.

Centre for Internet & Society (CIS) has released a new report titled “Information Security Practices of Aadhaar (or lack thereof): A documentation of public availability of Aadhaar Numbers with sensitive personal financial information” that reveals that four government portals including National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)’s dashboard and the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA)’s portal have leaked around 130 to 135 million Aadhaar numbers publicly. Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S8 series of phones come with dedicated Bixby hardware button that lets you access Bixby Voice by pressing and holding it. At the announcement Samsung said that Bixby will only understand US English and Korean. It also confirmed that Bixby Voice will only be available in Korean initially and the English version will be available later. Uber just launched UberEATS food delivery service in India, starting from Mumbai, as it had promised. This takes on FoodPanda, Swiggy, Zomato and more that that offer online food delivery service. UberEATS was launched in the U.S. last year after piloting it in Los Angeles as UberFRESH back in 2014. Currently it is live in 78 cities across 26 countries worldwide. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper on ‘Network testing before commercial launch of services’, following complaints by telecom operators against Reliance Jio over subscriber enrollment during its test phase prior to rolling out commercial services. “This is to discuss issues involved, possible solutions and framework to bring clarity on the matter,” said TRAI.
