Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 310 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update now rolling out in India

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Tab 2 310 (Tab 2 7.0) in India. Samsung announced the tab in February and it was unveiled in Asia in March. MediaTek launches MT6589 quad-core chip aimed at mid to high-end Android devices


MediaTek has launched MT6589 System on a Chip (SoC), aimed at mid to high-end Android smartphones and tablets. It has power-efficient quad-core Cortex A7 CPU from ARM, PowerVR Series5XT GPU and multi-mode UMTS Rel. 8/HSPA+/TD-SCDMA modem. It is built on 28nm process technology. This also has Dual-SIM support with Dual-Active functionality and the MT6589 is the world’s first HSPA+ smartphone to come with this feature. MediaTek launched MT6577 dual-core processor few months back, that powers the latest Micromax, Spice and Intex devices. Reports about the quad-core MediaTek chips started back in September. Yahoo! Mail for iPhone now available, Android app updated with new features

Yahoo has released a new Mail app for iPhone users. The Android app has also been updated to version 3.0 that brings new features including a new user interface with pull-to-refresh, slide-out folder list and action bars, improvements in battery performance and stability and more. The Yahoo! Mail for Android was released in 2010, that received a major update back in April that brought enhanced navigation menu and customized no notification sounds. Twitter for Android and iPhone updated with Photo Editor and Filters

Twitter has updated the Android and iPhone  apps that brings photo filters and option to enhance photos with auto fix and crop. This feature is powered by Aviary. Photo filters are already available in Instagram and Snapseed apps for Android and iPhone. The Instagram app was released for Android earlier this year and the iPhone app got a major update today. Sony Xperia go Review

Lava Iris N400 Dual SIM phone with 4-inch display, Android 4.0 now available for Rs. 6,399

Lava Iris N400, Lava’s new Dual SIM Android smartphone in the Iris range is now available from online retailers Flipkart and Snapdeal. Unlike the Iris N320 and N350 that was launched recently, the N400 comes with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and has 3G support. It has a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1 GHz processor. It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling.  It has Dual SIM support similar to the Iris smartphones. Samsung reveals more Galaxy S3 Premium Suite features

Samsung detailed Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Premium Suite features for the Galaxy S3 last week. Now, Samsung has revealed more Premium Suite features for the device. These include, Paper Artist, Camera features such as Low Light Shot and Best Face, Accessibility features such as Easy Mode, Sound Balance, Setup Wizard and Camera Easy Snap. LG Optimus L-Series smartphone sales surpass 10 million units globally

LG has announced that they have sold over 10 million units of Optimus L-Series smartphones globally. The Optimus L-Series Smartphones include, Optimus L3 that has a 3.2-inch display, Optimus L5 with a 4.0-inch (320×480 pixels), Optimus L7 with a 4.3 inch (480 x 800 pixels ) display and the Optimus L9 that has a 4.7-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) IPS display. LG announced the Optimus L3, L5 and L7 at MWC 2012 that was launched in India in May starting from the Optimus L3. It took 9 months for LG to achieve this feat starting from the Optimus L3 that went of sale in Europe in March. Sony releases Flash tool for Xperia Smartphones

Sony Mobile has released Flash tool for Xperia Smartphones. This would let you flash a standard Sony software on your Xperia smartphone with an unlocked boot loader. This software is available for Windows and automatically identifies the phone model and displays the available software to be flashed.
