Instagram for Android goes live

The massively popular filter based photo editing app , Instagram , has long been teasing an Android app. The application has finally gone live at Google Play. The service was previously exclusive to the iPhone.

The app looks more or less identical to the iOS version but lacks Tilt Shift / Blur, Share from Feed, Live Preview and Share to Flickr in its current release. These features are set to be introduced in an upcoming update. Instagram says that it has made efforts to make sure that there are no differences in the filters used on the two platforms so that any quality difference is purely down to camera hardware.
