Sony Xperia U, Xperia Sola and Xperia Go Android 4.0 update starts rolling out



Sony Mobile has has started rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for Xperia P as they promised last month. This update would bring new features including, new lock screen with improved functionality, Resizable widgets, Extended standby mode, Recent Apps button, WALKMAN, Album and Movies apps. Sony started rolling out ICS update for Xperia S in June.

Xperia sola would also get a new Glove Mode, an extension of floating touch technology that makes to use the phone in the cold whilst wearing gloves. This feature would be enabled by default after the ICS update. The Floating touch mode would be disabled and the Glove Mode would be enabled automatically when you unlock the screen while wearing a glove.

The ICS update would be available Over the Air (OTA) (depending on the regions and carriers) and via PC Companion on Windows/ Bridge for Mac. This update would be rolled out over the next few weeks and the availability might vary across different carriers and countries.

Sony’s 2011 and 2012 Xperia devices has received Android ICS update as they promised. Now we have to wait for the official news from Sony regarding the list of devices that would get the Jelly Bean update.
