Apple issues global recall for Beats Pill XL speaker due to overheating battery

Apple has announced for a global recall for its Beats Pill XL speakers sighting fire safety risk due to overheating of battery in the speaker in rare cases. This does not affects Beats Pill 2.0 or any other Beats or Apple products, says the company. It was introduced by Beats by Dre in November 2013. Apple acquired Beats for $3 billion in 2014. The Bluetooth speaker was sold through Apple Retail Stores and major retail stores, Apple.com and Beatsbydre.com from January 2014 through June 2015. The One 7 B1-760HD has a 7-inch HD screen, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek chip and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). The Iconia One 8 B1-830 has a 8-inch HD screen, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek SoC compared to Intel Atom Z3735G chip on the Iconia One 8 B1-820 that was announced last month and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). It has Acer Precision Plus technology offering highly accurate touch and writing experience.

Chinese smartphone maker Phicomm has entered India with the launch of Passion 660 smartphone, as it announced last month. It has a 5-inch 1080p display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 SoC, runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Expect OS 5.0. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is just 7.4mm thick, weighs 110 grams and has unibody premium magnesium alloy build.

Asus introduces new Zenfone 2 variants with Snapdragon 615 and 410 SoCs

At the Computex 2015 the company has silently introduced 6-inch Zenfone 2 (ZE600KL), 5-inch Zenfone 2 (ZE500KL) and 5.5-inch Zenfone 2 (ZE550KL) with Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs instead of Intel SoCs. Intel has introduced Thunderbolt 3, the next-generation Thunderbolt with USB-C connector offering 40Gbps speed, double the speed of Thunderbolt 2 and four times faster than USB 3.1. For the first time, one computer port connects to Thunderbolt devices, every display, and billions of USB devices, said the company. A single cable can provide four times the data and twice the video bandwidth of any other cable, while supplying power. It supports two 4K 60 Hz displays and notebook charging up to 100W with a single cable.
