Sliders with full QWERTY keypads seem to be the flavour of the season. After Sony Ericsson’s Xperia and Nokia’s E72 and E75, it is LG’s turn to launch such a handset.
A slider phone with a full QWERTY keypad, LG’s Prada II is a slick looking handset and is the successor to the Prada The silver keyboard along with the additional on-screen call and hang-up buttons gives fresh tactility to the original minimal concept.
The new Porsche P9522 handset is a candy bar that looks good. Made out of a single block of aluminium, this hand assembled handset has a touch screen.

Touch phones are becoming the order of the day.
When until a few months ago, the touch technology was touted as the ‘next best thing’ with HTC leading the way, other Mobile manufacturers are following the trend with enhanced capabilities to make these handsets a “must want” on several lists.
After the high profile launch of the Samsung Omnia in India a few days ago, Samsung Pixon has now been launched officially. Although there is no word on the official India launch yet, one can be sure it will make its way to us, “the fastest growing Mobile market of the world.”
Apple should sure be proud. iPhone is slowly becoming the benchmark for hi-tech handsets. After Nokia N96, it is now the turn of HTC T-Mobile, Google’s Android to be compared to the iPhone.

World renowned designer Giorgio Armani has collaborated with Samsung to bring a fashion phone called the Emporio Armani Night Effect. The model number is M7500.
A simple candy bar handset, it boasts of a flashy set of LEDs that are embedded into its sides.

Asus launched a new PDA handset called the P552w.
The P552w runs on Window’s Mobile 6.1 Professional. This handset has a touch screen and aims to be a competitor to HTC Touch Diamond and other touch screen mobiles.
The handset features Glide (Gester technology) which uses the handset’s touch-responsive user interface to make navigating and performing tasks on the mobile more intuitive and interactive, by scrolling and flipping pages etc. with the touch of your finger.

The Nokia N96 launched by the company in India recently will be available across stores from September 16th.
Touted to give tough competition to the Apple iPhone, this handset will be available for Rs 35,000. Read Fonearena’s coverage of iPhone Vs N96 here.
At Rs 35,000 it is an expensive phone but with higher features than iPhone which at Rs 32,000 – 36,000 is not cheap either.

One more high-end handset LG Voyager that will be available from Reliance for its CDMA users.

The N79 is a candy bar handset where as the N85 is a dual slider much like the N95.

The price of the 3G iPhone stumped those who were eagerly awaiting its launch in India. To counter the ‘non-affordability’ factor doing the rounds among buyers, Vodafone has decided to offer the handset of easy 6 monthly or 12 monthly instalments.
It is rumoured that the company is holding talks with financial institutions to initiate a tie-up.
