It also approved original equipment manufacturers and technology providers — Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and Development of Telematics (C-DoT) to supply equipments for 5G trials, but it didn’t allow Chinese vendors HUAWEI and ZTE. realme, one of India’s major smartphone manufacturers, has announced their commitment to adopting 5G technology across their portfolio of products. In an open letter, the company’s CEO, Sky Li, revealed that over the next two year, 70% of the products offered by realme will adopt 5G technology and realme will also be dedicating a significant amount of R&D resources to help speed up the adoption.

Airtel today announced that it has become the country’s first telcom performance to successfully demonstrate and orchestrate live 5G service over a commercial network in Hyderabad city. Airtel said that this has been carried out over its existing liberalised spectrum in the 1800MHz band through the NSA (Non Stand Alone) network technology using Ericsson 4G (DSS) radio infrastructure on OPPO Reno5 Pro and OPPO Find X2 Pro smartphones.
