Vodafone launches 4G LTE services in Kozhikode

Vodafone has launched its 4G LTE services in Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, almost a month after launching LTE services in the country starting from Kochi. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. Its 4G service in Kozhikode is built over fibre backhaul, and is supported by its 3G services on a network of 2100 MHz. Idea launches 4G LTE services in 75 towns in South India

Idea Cellular, today launched its 4G LTE services across five states in South India – Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. In the first phase it will be available across 75 Towns in Southern India, which includes Kochi, Hosur, Kadapa, Malapuram, Madurai, Mysore, Rajahmundry, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tiruppur, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam, while Belgaum, Calicut, Cuddalore, Chitradurga, Guntur, Kakinada, Kancheepuram and Trichur will follow by 31st December 2015, said Idea. Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in industrial township of Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, commercially. Airtel launched 4G services in 296 towns across India in August. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. Airtel has become the first telecom services provider to introduce super fast 4G speeds in Sri City. Reliance Jio expected to launch 4G in select areas by Dec 28, pan-India roll out in Q2 2016: report

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) already said that it plans to launch commercial 4G around December. Now a new report from Bank of America Merrill Lynch says that it expects a small scale launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm’s 4G services by the end of December in select areas, especially in Mumbai, according to ET. Vodafone launches 4G LTE services in India starting from Kochi

Vodafone has launched its 4G LTE services in Kochi, Kerala in India, as expected. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. It is offering free 4G upgrade with a SIM, with a trial pack of 120MB at Rs 29 and a bonanza pack of 20GB at Rs. 2499. Vodafone 4G services will be available to customers in Kochi starting from December 14. Vodafone already announced that it will roll out 4G services in Trivandrum and Kozhikode in Kerala in the first wave of the roll-out in a phased manner.
