With the rollout of 5G services underway across India, we have decided to test how fast these networks are. And of course, a great way to do this is through speed tests. Our candidate device today is Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone, which is the Galaxy Z Fold4. We have access to Airtel’s 5G Plus service in Chennai and we tested the phone, which is compatible with the operator’s 5G network.

Nothing Phone (1) 5G Speed Test in India on Airtel

Nothing made a lot of waves in India when they launched their first-ever smartphone called the Nothing Phone (1). Additionally, the phone supports 5G connectivity out of the box and also has received support from network operators already. With the rollout of 5G networks in India, we tested how well the Nothing Phone (1) performs on 5G. Nearly 90% of Indian smartphone users want to upgrade to 5G: Ookla

Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio), Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea (Vi), and infrastructure company Adani Group were the four participants in the 5G auction in India. They paid a combined total of Rs 1.5 trillion (US$ 19 billion) for spectrum in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz frequency bands. Telecom minister: India 5G spectrum auction in June

The Indian government is expected to undertake a 5G spectrum auction in early June, according to telecom minister. The minister stated that the Department of Telecom is on track to meet its deadlines and that the process to alleviate industry concerns about spectrum pricing is underway.
