Samsung REX 90 hands on

Samsung launched range of java-based feature phones in the REX series, the REX 60, REX 70, REX 80 and the REX 90 in India today. We got some hands on time with the REX 90, the top end model in the series. We brought you the REX 90 photo gallery earlier today, here is the video. It packs a 3.5-inch (480×320 pixels) HVGA 256k color capacitive touch screen display and has a Touchwiz interface with 7 customizable home screens. It is priced at Rs. 6,490. This has 2G EDGE support, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity similar to the REX 80.

Samsung REX 80 hands on

Samsung, in an effort to revamp its featurephone strategy, launched its new range of smart feature phones recently at a press conference in New Delhi. They are called the REX series of devices and four devices have been launched namely REX 60, REX 70, REX 80 and REX 90. We’ve been taking a look at these phones recently with the photo gallery of the Samsung REX 80, one of the two devices in this range with WiFi in built, along with EDGE. Samsung REX 70 hands on

The newly launched Samsung REX series of smart feature phones are Samsung’s new entries to the entry level smartphone market. With players like Micromax and Karbonn encroaching the feature phone territory with Android based models, the market is quite wide open. Nokia initially responded with their Asha series of device, and now it’s Samsung’s turn, with their REX 60, 70, 80 and 90. The REX 70 is a 3 inch device with smart Dual SIM functionality, and after we took a photo gallery, here is a hands on video of the Samsung REX 70

Samsung REX 60 hands on

Samsung had launched their new REX series of smart feature phones recently at a press conference in New Delhi here, in India. This is a global launch and the REX series of devices have been designed at the Samsung R&D center in Delhi. Four devices were launched today, as a part of the new REX series, and they are the REX 60, REX 70, REX 80 and the REX 90. Micromax A116 Canvas HD Unboxing

A few weeks ago Micromax, the popular Indian smartphone manufacturer, showed off its next Android flagship. Catering to the budget minded audience, the Micromax A116 Canvas HD packs a punch in terms of specifications at an extremely wallet friendly price point of Rs. 13,990.

Nokia Lumia 920 vs LG Optimus G

The Nokia Lumia 920 had its fair share of comparisons made when it won our Battle of the Flagships 2012 but it wasn’t fair to leave it just at that, and hence we are doing the Lumia 920 vs the flagships series. We are looking at the Nokia Lumia 920 vs the LG Optimus G today. The LG Optimus G was one of the first devices to have been manufactured in collaboration with LG’s own companies like LG Innotek, LG Display and LG Chem and it is certainly one of LG’s best Android flagships till date. BlackBerry Z10 Unboxing

BlackBerry launched the Z10, the first BlackBerry 10 few days back, and here we have the unboxing of the phone. The phone has a 4.2 inch multi-touch IPS LCD display at a resolution of 1280 by 768 at 356 PPI pixel density. The Z10 is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It has 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory and comes with a microSD expansion slot.

HTC Butterfly vs Nokia Lumia 920

The HTC Butterfly launched very recently in India for a price of Rs.45,990, making it one of the costliest phones to buy here. You might have read our review of the HTC Butterfly, with a large emphasis on it being the first smartphone to sport a 1920×1080 screen in India. Nokia Lumia 920 vs HTC One X

We’ve been doing the Nokia Lumia 920 vs the flagships series, and you could have seen the Nokia Lumia 920 vs Samsung Galaxy S3 comparison earlier. This time, it’s the Nokia Lumia 920 vs HTC One X. The HTC One X launched at the Mobile World Congress 2012 and was heralded as one of the most beautifully designed smartphones ever, while the Nokia Lumia 920, known for its own design too, was launched recently at Nokia World on the 5th of September. Xiaomi MI-2 hands on

Long time back in August 2012, we had seen the Xiaomi MI-2 launch in China with it being the successor to the first MIUI phone, from the makers of the MIUI ROMs for Android. It has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is one of the first devices to pack the APQ8064 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 320 Graphics. It runs on the MIUI ROM based on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). We had some hands on time with the Xiaomi MI-2 at the International CES 2013 and here is a hands on video demo of it.

Lenovo IdeaPhone S890 hands-on

Lenovo unveiled range of Android smartphones at the CES 2013. We got some hands-on time with the IdeaPhone S890, the company’s high-end smartphone at CES. It has a 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD IPS screen with 178 degree viewing angle and the phone is 9.3mm thick. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with Lenovo’s custom UI on top. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby.

LG Vu Talk Demo

We had shown you the hands on of the LG Optimus Vu II earlier, and with the Vu II comes an interesting real-time collaboration feature that might impress you at first sight, and that is called Vu Talk. Vu Talk works between two Optimus Vu devices over a 3G or a WiFi network. It’s basically like real-time messaging but using a stylus-laden note taking app. Check out the really impressive demo of the Vu Talk in the hands on video.

Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 Hands-on

Lenovo showcased the IdeaTab S2110 at the International CES 2013 in Las Vegas earlier this month, and we got some hands-on time with the device. It has a 10.1-in IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060A processor and has a 1.3M HD front-facing camera. Android tablets with a keyboard dock is already popular with the Asus Transformer tablet, and even this one from Lenovo includes a battery, USB 2.0 ports and a 3-in-1 card reader in the optional docking station.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Hands-on

Lenovo launched the IdeaTab A2107, the company’s low-cost Android tablet in India earlier this month for Rs. 14,000. We got to check out the tablet at the International CES 2013. The 7.0-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) AMOLED display with 5-point capacitive multitouch display, 350 nits brightness is sharp and bright. It is powered by a 1 GHz MediaTek 6575 Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). At the top there is a 0.3MP front-facing camera and weighs 400 grams.
