New iPad and iPad Mini reportedly go on sale starting October 30th or 31st

It’s now public knowledge that Apple is organizing an event on October 22 for a refresh of the iPad and the iPad mini along with a refresh for the Macbook Pros too, but reports are now coming in that the availability of these new products will be very close to launch. A report from french site MacG pegs the availability dates for the new iPads, including the new retina mini for October 30th or 31st. This is in line with most Apple launches, and going with the track record of MacG we assume this data is correct.

Lava has launched the E-Tab Ivory, a new tablet with voice calling support in the E-Tab range. The E-Tab E-Tab Z7C+ (Connect+) with voice calling support went on sale recently, but this has a dual SIM support similar to the Micromax Funbook Mini P410 that went on sale earlier this month. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8377 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has dual SIM cars slots with 3G support, voice calling and SMS. These is a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) multi-touch IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor with ULP GeForce GPUand runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and packs a 4000 mAh battery. Xolo launched the Xolo Tab last month powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 and voice calling, but this lacks 3G support or voice calling. Datawind, the company behind the low-cost Aakash tablets has launched three new tablets, UbiSlate 7Cx, UbiSlate 3G7 and the UbiSlate 9Ci. The UbiSlate 7Cx is the cheapest among these, which comes with a 7-inch capactive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (ICS). It also comes with 2G (EDGE) connectivity. The UbiSlate 3G7 also has a 7-inch capactive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (ICS). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It also has 3G data connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth support. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) 5-point multi-touch display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The tablet comes with parental lock that lets parents restrict or block internet usage, restrict apps that can be accessed by children using Application Manager and a timer to set the amount of time each day that their child can use the tablet. Dell Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets with dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor and Android 4.2 announced

Dell has introduced two new tablets powered by a 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ processor. The Venue 7 has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and the Venue 8 has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels). Both these tablets run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and packs 2 GB of RAM. The Venue 7 has a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The Venue 8 has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing HD camera. Both these tablets come with 4100 mAh battery and has optional 3G support apart from the usual connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth and Micro USB. The 7-inch Venue 7 would compete with the NVIDIA Tegra Note that was unveiled recently. Micromax Canvas Tab P650 Benchmarks

Micromax launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series last month. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It has a 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) 4:3 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8389 Cortex A7 processor with PowerVR SGX544 MP2 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). The Xolo tab that was also released last month had a similar 8-inch display, but it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 200 (MSM8225Q) processor. We don’t have the Xolo Tab yet to compare it with the Canvas Tab, let’s find out how it performs with other Android tablets in various synthetic benchmark tests.

Archos 10.1 XS2 + Keyboard Dock Hands On

During IFA 2013, alongside additions to its smartphone and other tablet ranges, Archos introduced the Archos 10.1 XS2 tablet that comes with a very cool ultrathin magnetic keyboard. The keyboard is a pleasure to use and slips away out of sight beneath the tablet (which can also be removed from the keyboard and carried around on its own).

Archos ChefPad Hands On

We’ve already seen companies like Samsung target the child-tablet market with the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids but at IFA 2013, we discovered that Archos may have produced an absolute gem of a tablet and created a market all on their own. Dubbed the Archos ChefPad, it is targeted towards professional chefs or those adults who spend a lot of time in the kitchen and like to follow recipes.
