Swipe Telecom has launched Swipe Junior, the company’s first tablet for Kids. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) 5-point multi-touch display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The tablet comes with parental lock that lets parents restrict or block internet usage,  restrict apps that can be accessed by children using Application Manager and a timer to set the amount of time each day that their child can use the tablet. Dell Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets with dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor and Android 4.2 announced

Dell has introduced two new tablets powered by a 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ processor. The Venue 7 has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and the Venue 8 has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels). Both these tablets run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and packs 2 GB of RAM. The Venue 7 has a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The Venue 8 has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing HD camera. Both these tablets come with 4100 mAh battery and has optional 3G support apart from the usual connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth and Micro USB. The 7-inch Venue 7 would compete with the NVIDIA Tegra Note that was unveiled recently. Micromax is all set to launch Funbook Mini P410, the company’s first tablet with dual SIM support in the Funbook series. The tablet has appeared on Flipkart and packs a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has dual SIM cars slots with 3G support, voice calling and SMS.  These is a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Micromax Canvas Tab P650 Benchmarks

Micromax launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series last month. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It has a 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels)  4:3 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8389 Cortex A7 processor with PowerVR SGX544 MP2 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). The Xolo tab that was also released last month had a similar 8-inch display, but it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 200 (MSM8225Q) processor. We don’t have the Xolo Tab yet to compare it with the Canvas Tab, let’s find out how it performs with other Android tablets in various synthetic benchmark tests.

It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz  quad-core Cortex A7 processor with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and packs a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a SIM card slot for 3G connectivity and a ear piece for voice calling. During IFA 2013, alongside additions to its smartphone and other tablet ranges, Archos introduced the Archos 10.1 XS2 tablet that comes with a very cool ultrathin magnetic keyboard. The keyboard is a pleasure to use and slips away out of sight beneath the tablet (which can also be removed from the keyboard and carried around on its own).

Dubbed the Archos ChefPad, it is targeted towards professional chefs or those adults who spend a lot of time in the kitchen and like to follow recipes.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD gets a price cut in India, now available for Rs. 11,999

Amazon just announced their new series of Kindle Fire HDX and now we are seeing a price cut on the existing model of Kindle Fire HD in India. Originally, the 16GB version Kindle Fire HD was available for Rs. 15,999 and now it is available for Rs. 11,999 (while the 32GB version is now available for Rs. 15,999). The price cut comes just ahead of the launch of new generation Kindle Fires.

Amazon has also upgraded the Kindle Fire HD along with the a faster 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display with a slightly better resolution than last year’s Kindle Fire HD and runs on the new Fire OS 3.0 Mojito based on Android Jelly Bean. It comes with 1GB of RAM and comes in 8GB and 16GB vairants. It doesn’t have LTE support like the Kindle fire HDX tablets. This has a has a 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display, powered by a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on the new Fire OS 3.0 Mojito based on Android Jelly Bean. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 720p HD camera. It also comes with built-in dual microphones and Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio and virtual 5.1 multi-channel surround sound. It has 2GB of RAM and comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants similar to the 7-inch variant. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 Benchmarks

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 3 211, the company’s latest 7-inch tablet in India back in July. We brought you the unboxing of the device last week, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a dual-core Marvell PXA986 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and Vivante GC1000 GPU. The last year’s Tab 2 was powered by a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor. Since this is a mid-range SoC, we can’t expect performance like the Exynos 4 Quad (4412) CPU present in the Note 8.0. Let’s check out how it performs when compared to ther other tablets in various synthetic benchmark tests.

HP has announced two new mid-range Android tablets along with the Slate 7 Extreme and Slate 8 Pro powered by Tegra 4. These tablets come with 7-inch and 10-inch display at a resolution of 1280 x 800. These tablets are powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex A9  Marvell PXA986 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). These also have  front and rear cameras. HP announced the company’s first Tegra 4-powered hybrid, SlateBook x2 with a 10.1-inch 1080p display back in May. Now the company has announced two new devices, Slate 7 Extreme and Slate 8 Pro powered by a Tegra 4 Cortex-A15 processor with 72-core GeForce GPU. The Slate 7 Extreme has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display, while the Slate 8 Pro comes with a 7.98-inch (1600 x 1200 pixels) display.
