Amazon has announced new Fire HD 10 Tablet, an upgrade to its 2015 model. It has a 10.1-inch widescreen 1080p Full HD display, compared to WXGA screen in the predecessor and is also 30% faster with 2x the RAM and a better quad-core processor. It also comes with Alexa hands-free for the first time in the Fire tablet that lets you just ask Alexa to control video playback (play, pause, rewind, and fast forward), launch an app, play your favorite song, or read an audiobook aloud.
After recent leaks, Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) in Vietnam. It has a 8-inch WXGA, is powered by a Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 processor, runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat) and also comes in both WiFi (SM-T380) and 4G variants (SM-T385). It has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. Micromax has launched Canvas Plex Tab that has been co-created by teaming up with digital platform Eros Now. As a result of this collaboration, the Canvas Plex Tab will come pre-loaded with Eros Now’s library of Bollywood and regional language films, music videos, TV shows, originals and more. It will come bundled with a one-year subscription to Eros Now digital service.

iBall has launched Slide Elan 4G2, the company’s latest tablet with 4G VoLTE support. Even though it doesn’t have an earpiece, it supports voice calling via headphones or a Bluetooth headset. It has a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex A53 processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with a single LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Asus has quietly introduced new ZenPad 3S 8.0 and two new Asus ZenPad 10 tablets at the Computex 2017 in Taiwan. The ZenPad 3S 8.0 (Z582KL) is the smaller version of the ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) that was introduced last year. The new model has a 7.9-inch 2K (2048 x 1536 resolution) screen dual speakers and 4GB of RAM. It also has a 6.9mm slim unibody metal design. The worldwide tablet market once again contracted in the first quarter of 2017 (1Q17) with total shipments of 36.2 million, a year-over-year decline of 8.5%, according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker. The first quarter contraction marks the tenth straight quarter that tablets have experienced a decline over the same quarter a year earlier, with the previous five quarters recording double-digit drops.

After several rumors, Xiaomi has announced Mi Pad 3, successor of Mi Pad 2 that was introduced back in 2015. It has the same 7.9-inch (2048 × 1536 pixels) display at 326 ppi as the first two Mi Pad tablets, but the Intel processor has been replaced by MediaTek MT8176 hexa-core processor. It has the same 6.95mm slim unibody metal design as the predecessor and also has an improved 13-megapixel rear camera.
