HERE Maps for Android was launched as beta last month. The app has been updated to version 1.0.220 that brings support for Android 5.0 (Lollipop). This update also brings fixes to downloaded voice files that will not be cleared if the phone’s cache is wiped using a cleaner, as it promised. HTC launched the Desire 820 smartphone in India last month for Rs. 24,990. Samsung launched its Gear S Smartwatch in India last month for Rs. 28,900. Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Gear S earlier this week. Now the smartwatch with a built-in SIM card slot is available for purchase from the their official eStore for Rs. 27,900, which is Rs. 1,000 cheaper compared to the launch price. The Gear S has a 2-inch (360 x 480 pixels) curved Super AMOLED display, comes with a 1GHz dual-core processor and enables you to independently make and receive calls, without connecting to a device and also offers 3G support. Samsung launched the Galaxy Alpha smartphone in India back in September. We already brought you the review of the Galaxy Alpha, here we have the camera samples from the smartphone. The Galaxy Alpha has a 12-megapixel sensor, which is completely new. It has panorama shot & more, virtual tour, dual camera and beauty face camera options.
Samsung was one of the first consumer electronics giants to dive head-first into the world of wearables with its own line of Smartwatches, starting with the Gear. The original Gear that initially ran on Android, now runs on Tizen, and Samsung’s already iterated on it a couple of times, with the Gear 2, the Gear Fit, the new Gear S, all variations and experiments on the hot new market.
But then Android Wear happened, with Samsung announced as one of the partners. Rival LG had already announced its first Watch, but Samsung waited until IO to announce their first smartwatch that will work across all Android devices, not just Samsung ones, the Gear Live. The Gear Live, the stripped down Android variant of the Gear 2, joins the other Wear watches, in the effort to appeal to consumers willing to invest in a new category of devices. With Android Wear as the platform of choice, does the hardware push the boundaries, or does it play a safe losing game? Let’s find out.
The LG G Watch R has arrived on Google Play Store in the United States. Announced in August, the Android Wear smartwatch from LG is priced at $299 and will ship out in 1-2 days after the order is placed.

HTC launched the Desire 516c smartphone, the Dual SIM (CDMA + GSM) variant of last year’s Desire 516 in India last month for Rs. 12,990. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 200 Processor with four ARM Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.19 GHz per core and has Adreno 302 GPU. But the CPU-Z and other benchmark apps show that it has a Adreno 305 GPU. It has 1GB RAM, 5-inch (960 × 540 pixels) qHD screen and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS with Sense UI on top. Last week Huawei unveiled their latest attempt to crack the European market; dubbed the Honor 6, it’s something different from Huawei’s usual handsets and unlike the Ascend range, the Honor 6 (and presumably future devices in the range) do not come with Huawei branding. The Chinese manufacturer has previously suffered bad publicity in the UK and Europe – over allegations that it sends user data back to servers in China that the Chinese government can access – and the Honor 6 is designed to offer the complete Huawei package without any negative stigma attached.
