LG to expand its Hi-Fi Music Service for premium smartphones globally
LG has announced that it will expand its high-fidelity (Hi-Fi) music service globally starting from this month for its customers who uses premium smartphones. This service was first introduced in Korea back in March 2014, where the cumulative downloads has topped 25 million. This will offer 24 bit/192kHz Hi-Fi studio-like audio experience, about 6 times the sound quality of a typical CD (16bit/44.1kHz). Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime Unboxing – ‘Made in India’ smartphone
Xiaomi launched the Redmi 2 Prime, the company’s first smartphone that is Made in India. It is the enhanced version of the Redmi 2 that was launched in the country earlier this year. It is priced at Rs. 6,999 in the India and is currently on sale on Mi.com and across all Mi India partners including Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.

Philips Xenium I908 with 5-inch 1080p display and S309 launched in India for Rs. 11799 and Rs. 4999
Philips has launched Xenium I908, a mid-range smartphone and the S309, a budget smartphone in India. The Philips I908 appeared on the official Philips India website last year and packs a 5-inch 1080p screen, 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Philips S309 has a 4-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.
Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Agartala
Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in Agartala. It launched 4G services in 296 towns across India last week, after running 4G LTE trails in the country. Airtel said that it had received great response during trail period in Shillong. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. XOLO Black Review
XOLO Black is the first smartphone from XOLO that is part of the Black series of smartphones that are aimed at online retail markets. Calling the series Black and the smartphone Black as well makes it quite confusing for the customer and it will become more so when it is time to launch the next phone in the Black series. That is expected to be sometime soon as the company did state that it has plans to launch around 4 devices per year. We aren’t sure what naming scheme the company plans for the upcoming devices but what we do know is what the XOLO Black offers and it seems to offer plenty judging by its specifications sheet. Kingston introduces 512GB UHS-I SDHC/SDXC card
Kingston has introduced 512GB Class 10 UHS-I SDHC/SDXC card for cameras and camcorders. This will allow users to record more video and shoot more high-density image files without running out of space. It offers read speeds of up to 90MB/s and write speed of up to 45MB/s, similar to the 256GB UHS-I SDHC/SDXC card that was introduced last year. Micromax launched the Canvas Xpress 2, the company’s latest budget smartphone last month at a price tag of Rs. 5999. It is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592M processor with 8 ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs clocked at 1.36 GHz per core and Mali 450-MP4 GPU. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ pre-order page revealed accidentally
Samsung France has accidentally made the pre-order page for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ live before it was pulled. This shows that pre-orders for the smartphone begins on August 21st in Europe. It also says that customers who pre-order the device between August 21st and September 3rd will get a free Level On Bluetooth headset, so the Galaxy S6 edge+ is expected to hit the retail shelves on September 4th. Indian smartphone shipment grows 44% in Q2, courtesy eTailers: IDC
International Data Corporation (IDC) on Tuesday published quarterly shipment data for the Asia Pacific region. As per their Quarterly Mobile Tracker for Q2 2015, India itself shipped 26.5 million smartphones this quarter, which is up by 44% from the 18.4 million units for the same period last year.
