Qualcomm Inc which is a leading developer of mobile hardware solutions including the latest Snapdragon processors for mobile phones is now bidding for the 3G Spectrum in India. The 3G auctions are finally planned to take place in India next month and the government is inviting bids from companies willing to take part in the auctions. The last date for applying is March 19th.

NFC or Near Field Communications in Mobile phones has never gone mainstream due to the very poor adoption by handset makers. It’s practically very difficult to get hold of a mobile handset supported NFC even for testing forget about retail. First Data and Tyfon have joined hands to bring NFC to the masses and this move can be a game changer for mobile payments and near field communications.
