Gallery : Zync Z-999 3G Android Tablet

We recently got a chance to play around with yet another newly launched low-cost Android tablet called the Zync Z-999. Here’s a quick gallery showing you all the main features of the tablet along with our quick impressions.

On the face of it, the Zync  Z-999 looks like almost any other low end tablet out there. The black slab is dominated by a 7″ display up front. It is flanked on the right by ‘feather touch’ capacitive buttons while the left provides an ear piece slot. The display quality is pedestrian with the resolution still stuck at a rather antiquated WVGA (840×480) which just doesn’t cut it on a 7″ tablet. The contrast levels are low and even at full brightness, the display is fairly dim.

The back of the tablet has a matte finish to it which gives  it a slightly premium and upmarket feel. On the left, a 2MP camera protrudes out and a speaker grille can be seen around the lower half. The brand name is emblazoned across the back of the device.

The tablet comes with a 3G radio built in so that users can just push in a SIM card and enjoy browsing on the go. The 0.3 MP front facing camera will allow video calling via apps like Skype or Fring. In addition, the Zync  Z-999 can also be used as a full fledged phone due to the microphone and earpiece built in.

The tablet is equipped with a number of ports and slots on the side including HDMI. A microSD slot allows for memory expansion beyond the 8GB included. A SIM slot is present to allow users to insert their SIM cards for data access.

We’ll have more on the Zync  Z-999  in our full review shortly. The tablet is available at a price point of Rs. 11,990. You can read more about it by checking out our previous coverage here.
