WePad which is a Intel based Android Tablet competing with the iPad has renamed it’s product as WeTab. The reason the company states is that they want clearly differentiate their products within the international market for tablet computers.  Specs wise the WeTab looks impressive . But why this move ? Is Apple to blame ?

Google Nexus One vs HTC Desire – Photos

We have seen the Google Nexus One and the HTC Desire separately. Now we found a photo gallery which shows both these Android phones side by Side. As you can see in the pics, the HTC Desire sports the famous HTC Sense UI which is missing on the Nexus One. Also the trackball on the N1 is replaced by the optical trackpad on the Desire. Also the touch sensitive keys on the N1 get physical keys on the Desire. We know a lot of users might prefer the Desire over the N1 from our previous coverage. But we ask again Nexus One or Desire ? Nokia sues Apple again over iPad 3G

Nokia is again suing iPhone maker Apple in Wisconsin, USA over alleged patent violations in Apple products such as iPhone and iPad 3G.

Samsung Guru 1175 at Rs.1690

The Guru 1175 is the latest member of the Samsung Guru handset family. Nothing great about this handset but it does offer 23 hrs playback via FM Radio and 12 hours of talk time. It has a curvy design and a ergonomic grip. It packs the famous bike mode and fake caller found in most guru phones from Samsung.

iPad officially starts selling in 9 more countries , Pricing Revealed

Apple just announced that after a successful start in USA, the iPad is now going on sale in 9 more countries Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK from May 28. Users in these countries can pre-order the device online starting from May 10.

IDC : Worldwide Smartphone Market grew 56.7%

According to report by Research Firm IDC(International Data Corporation) , the Worldwide Smartphone Market saw a 56.7% growth year over year.54.7  million Converged Mobile Devices or Smartphones were shipped my Handset makers in the first Quarter of 2010. And these make up for only 1.8% of the total mobile phone shipments worldwide. As you can see in the chart below the Top 5 smartphone phone makers based on volumes and market share are Nokia with a 39.3% share followed by Blackberry maker RIM at 19.4%. Apple iPhone shipments have more than doubled and it has 16.1 % of the market share. HTC is at a distant 4th followed by Motorola.

iRobot Android Tablet aka APad Photos and Video

Thanks to the phenomenal response to the APad post and thanks to user Jean from France who has shared Photos and Video of the iRobot / APad with us. The APad is running on Android 1.6 and is reportedly having a battery life of around 3-4 hourson WiFi.  Not bad at all for a really cheap iPad clone. Enjoy the pics and video after the break

Microsoft Communicator Mobile latest child from the Redmond Espoo Alliance

Last year Nokia and Microsoft announced an alliance to bring Mobile Productivity solutions to Nokia phones and the first child from the alliance is Microsoft Communicator Mobile and application is now available from the Ovi Store. Only Nokia E72 and Nokia E52 seem to be supported at the moment.

APad – China iPad

Meet the APad the Chinese clone of the Apple iPad and it does not run some dumb piece of software like Chinese clones .  In fact the reason it’s called APad is because it runs on Android OS.   The success of the Apple iPad might speed up the production look alike tablet devices and the APad looks too good to be true.  Looks like they are looking to capitalize on the flaws of the iPad by providing a Webcam ,  USB port , Memory Card slot etc.We hope its just not a mockup but a real product

Nokia warns about unofficial PR 1.2 Firmware update , can damage phones

The much awaited PR 1.2 firmware update for the Nokia N900 has been leaked and this unofficial update has been circulating on the Internet since yesterday .

We had posted this news on MaemoArena along with a bunch of screenshots and the changelog. We had warned that this update was not official and might brick your phone. Now Nokia has stepped in and tweeted that this unofficial update is causing damage to N900 devices. So users are requested to stay away from this update
