Acer has been a prime contender in the Android tablet sector. Now they are planning to release Android devices starting from $99 next year.
The 7″ Iconia B1 tablet with 1024 X 600 resolution display, 1.2 GHz dual core processor. There is a slight twist to these devices, this Android tablet will only be launched in emerging markets. Acer is planning to reveal low cost devices mainly because competitors like ASUS and Amazon has been low cost tablets and that model has been a success. It has also been rumored that Acer is working on a Intel based Windows 8 tablet.
