It packs in a 4-inch (800×480 pixels) 262K TFT Capacitive Touch Screen display and is powered by a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM 7227 A processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). HTC has announced Windows Phone 8S, their new device in the Windows Phone 8 range followed by the Windows Phone 8X. It has a 4-inch (800x 480 pixels) super LCD display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor Snapdragon S4 processor. HTC has announced Windows Phone 8X, their new Windows Phone 8 device. It has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor. ZTE and Mozilla partner up, plan on selling a Firefox phone in Q1 2013

Mozilla, makers of the once loved Firefox web browser, are trying to become relevant again. Their strategy is to create a mobile operating system that leverages their HTML rendering engine so that developers can write their applications using the same languages they’re used to using when creating websites. In other words, they want “web apps” to get the same sort of respect that “native apps” get. Today ZTE is announcing that they’re going to unveil a phone either by the end of this year or early next year running Mozilla’s OS. Winknet launches Ultimate and Wonder 9.7-inch and 7-inch tablets running Android 4.0

Winknet has launched 2 new tablets, Ultimate (TWY300) and Wonder (TWY100) in India. The Winknet Ultimate has a 9.7-inch capacitive touch screen display and the Winknet Wonder comes with a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display. Both these tablets are powered by a 1.5 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Winknet Ultimate features a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera, while the Wonder sports a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera. Motorola Razr i gets priced in UK, coming in October

Motorola announced the Razr i, their first smartphone powered by Intel’s Medfield processor today. UK’s online retailer Clove has confirmed that it would launch in UK at the first week of October. The Razr i packs in similar features as a the Razr M including a edge-to-edge 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) Super AMOLED Advanced display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection but it is powered by a 2GHz Intel Medfield processor instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. Google Nexus 7 launching in India in November


Asus India today confirmed at the PadFone and Transformer Pad launch event that the Google Nexus 7 is expected to launch in India in November according from reports for CIOL. It might come with a different name and few changes in the specification says Ausus, the hardware partner. Google announced the Nexus 7, their first Android tablet to come with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) in June at Google I/O for $199. Samsung begins mass production of 128GB embedded flash memory, 2GB LPDDR3 RAM for mobile devices

Samsung has announced that they have started producing 128GB ultra-fast embedded flash memory and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. They announced last month that they have started production of the embedded flash memory in 16, 32 and 64-gigabyte (GB) densities. The 128GB eMMC Pro uses eMMC 4.5 standard that delivers up to 140 MB/s (megabytes per second) sequential reading speeds and up to 50 MB/s sequential writing speeds. Asus PadFone launched in India for Rs. 64999

Asus has finally launched the PadFone in India, as we said last week. Asus unveiled the PadFone last year, but they detailed the specs only at the MWC 2012, earlier this year. The PadFone comes with 4.3-inch (960×540 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The PadFone could be docked into the PadFone station that transforms it into a tablet that has 1.3MP front-facing camera and a micro HDMI port. The PadFone weighs 129 g and the Padfone Station weighs 724 g. Apple iPhone 5 pre-orders top 2 million units in first 24 hours


Apple has officially announced that the pre-orders for the iPhone 5 has crossed 2 million, 24 hours after the pre-orders began on September 14th. Apple spokesperson said yesterday that the company was blown away by the response to the iPhone 5. Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 last week that packs in a larger 4-inch display and a A6 chip. It also comes with an improved 8MP auto focus camera and an 1.2 MP front-facing camera with 720p HD video. GoCarz partners with Airtel to offer free in-cab Internet

TRAI asks operators not to charge a premium for voice calls, SMS on Blackout days

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued directions to Telecom service providers regarding charges for Voice calls and SMS on blackout days. Usually service providers does not allow concessional voice calls and SMS under any plan or package. TRAI has already said that the blackout days should not exceed 5 in a calendar year. Now, they have asked the service providers no to charges extra more than the tariff plan in which the consumer is enrolled.
