60,000 Redmi 1S units sell out in 5.2 seconds in fourth sale in India

Xiaomi sold 60,000 units of Remi 1S smartphones in 5.2 seconds in the fourth flash sale in India today. The company put up 20,000 units more than first three Redmi sales, and over 3.5 lakh people had registered for today’s sale. It took 3.4 seconds for the company to sell 40,000 units in its third sale last week. Jolla smartphone with Sailfish OS launched in India for Rs. 16499

Jolla, the smartphone start up company from Finland has launched its first Jolla smartphone in India exclusively on Snapdeal, as it promised. It has a 4.5-inch qHD screen, powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on Sailfish OS, which has a gesture-based user interface and supports Android apps.  Jolla has an unique design. There are two parts to the smartphone, the front and the cover which Jolla refer to as the other half.

HTC Desire 820 announced in India, comes in octa-core and quad-core variants early November

HTC has announced the Desire 820, the company’s latest phablet and the successor of the Desire 816 in India. It was unveiled at the IFA 2014 earlier this month and packs a  5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, powered by a octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor ( four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz per core and four clocked at 1.0 GHz) with Adreno 405 GPU  / 1.2 GHz quad-core processor Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat with HTC Sense 6 UI on top, that it upgradable to upcoming release of Android L. HTC has launched the Desire 816G dual SIM, a cheaper variant of the Desire 816 in India. It has the same 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, similar to the Desire 816 that was launched back in April. but this is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, instead of a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC and comes with 1GB RAM, instead of 1.5GB on the Desire 816. Microsoft has updated the Skype app for iPhone to version 5.5 that brings support for interactive notifications for the users running the new iOS 8. The interactive notifications lets you answer voice and videos calls and open text in skype directly from the lock screen and the notification center. You can swipe left from the lock screen to reveal the notification options and swipe down from the notification center to reveal these options. Apple sells record 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones in 3 days

Last week Apple announced that it has received four million pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus in the first 24 hours. Today the company has announced that it has sold record-breaking 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models in just three days after the launch on September 19th. Last year’s iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C saw combined sales on 9 million units in three days after the launch. It is expected to launch both the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact at the event later this week. The Sony Xperia Z3 is powered by a slightly faster Snapdragon 801 SoC, has a more rounded sides and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box, compared to the Xperia Z2. After Samsung, LG is the new company to launch an entry-level clamshell smartphone in Korea. Named as Wine Smart, it has a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes with Kakao Talk messenger with a dedicated launch key for the app, T9 keypad and high-power 1W speaker that would the best output even in noisy audio environment.
