LG Wine Smart Clamshell Android KitKat smartphone launched in Korea

After Samsung, LG is the new company to launch an entry-level clamshell smartphone in Korea. Named as Wine Smart, it has a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes with Kakao Talk messenger with a dedicated launch key for the app, T9 keypad and high-power 1W speaker that would the best output even in noisy audio environment. It is 16.9mm thick and weighs 140.8 grams.

It also has a new safe keeper feature aimed at elderly users. This would automatically automatically send the location information or call the emergency number when the phone is unused for a long time. It has a tiny LED notification light on the outside that would offer notification for missed calls, text messages and more.

It has 1GB RAM, 4GB of internal storage with expansion slot and packs a 1700 mAh battery. It has 4G LTE connectivity and comes the usual set of connectivity features such as WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The LG Wine Smart comes in black and white colors and would go on sale in South Korea starting September 26th. No word on pricing or availability outside Korea.
