UK privacy Watchdog fines Facebook £500,000 over Cambridge Analytica data breach

Facebook has been fined a £500,000 ($665,000) by the UK’s data protection watchdog, the ICO, for failing to protect users data and take consent on how their data would be harvested by apps. This penalty also relates to Facebook’s role in the Cambridge Analytica data-harvesting scandal where the personal information of around 87 million users was shared with Cambridge Analytica. After Kerala, Mumbai,  Tamil NaduAndhra Pradesh and Telangana, Airtel has announced massive network expansion in West Bengal as part of its network transformation initiative – Project Leap. During the FY 18-19, Airtel plans to roll out 10,000 new mobile sites taking the total number of sites to 38,000 along with an addition of more than 2000 kilometers of optic fiber, taking the total footprint to 17,000 kms to enable high speed data transmission.
