Twitter acknowledges bug that exposed protected Tweets of some Android users for years

Twitter for Android has been effected with an issue where ‘Protect Your Tweets’setting has been disabled if a certain amount of changes were made. The company says that it is aware of the issue and users may have been impacted by this issue if they had protected Tweets turned on in the settings, and made certain changes to account settings such as changing the email address associated with your account between November 3, 2014, and January 14, 2019. Google acquires Fossil Group’s smartwatch technology for $40 million

Vivo APEX 2019 bezel-less curved screen smartphone to be introduced on January 24

Vivo introduced its APEX FullView Concept Smartphone with 98% screen-to-body ratio and an in-display fingerprint scanner at the MWC in February last year. Later it introduced the phone as NEX and the new NEX Dual Screen with a new design was unveiled last month. Today the company posted a teaser for APEX 2019 bezel-less smartphone ahead of announcement on January 24th. This shows a more curved design without the front camera or even the buttons on the sides. LG G7 ThinQ Android Pie update rolling out starting from Korea, update schedule for V35 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ, V30, G6 and more confirmed

LG has finally rolled out  Android 9.0 (Pie) update for its G7 ThinQ smartphone starting from Korea, as it had promised last month. The company has also shared update schedule for older smartphones, including some of the Q and X series smartphones in Korea, which extends throughout the year. Hope we can expect the global roll out soon after the roll out in Korea.

Reliance Jio reports Rs. 831 crore profit in FY Q3 2018-19, crosses 10000 crore quarterly operating revenue

Reliance Jio has reported Rs. 10,383 crore revenue, up 12.4% QoQ and 50.9 YoY and a net profit of 831 crore, up 22.1% QoQ and 65% YoY for its sixth quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 31st December, 2018.  Jio reported Standalone earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 4,053 crore, up 13.4% QoQ, EBITDA margin of 39%, and Standalone earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 2,369 crore, up 16% QoQ .

Xiaomi’s Survival Game now available for download

Update – January 17, 2019 – The Survival game is now available from Mi App Store for eligible Xiaomi devices. The game is just 185MB so you can’t expect PUBG-like graphics. If you don’t have Xiaomi smartphone, you can download the APK from here and install it manually.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro expected to be powered by Snapdragon 675

At the Redmi Note 7 launch event last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro soon with Sony IMX586 sensor replacing the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor on the Redmi Note 7. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 675, according to new reports from China. The Redmi Note 7 uses Snapdragon 660. New SoC and camera sensor might bump up the price of the smartphone slightly.

Xiaomi showcases bigger in-display fingerprint scanner with one-click unlocking

Last year Xiaomi introduced Mi 8 Explorer Edition and later in the year it introduced Mi 8 Pro with pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor that is 29% faster. This week President Lin Bin shared the next-generation in-display fingerprint on a Mi 8 test unit. He said that the company has worked for more than half an year to bring one-click unlocking and a larger unlocking area. Paytm has launched food ordering and delivery service through its mobile app in partership with Zomato. This lets you browse your favorite restaurants within the Paytm App and order food instantly. This service is currently live for Delhi-NCR and the company says that it will cover more than 80 thousand restaurants across 100 cities by end of this month.
