HUAWEI Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ with FHD+ 90Hz OLED screen, Kirin 9000 5G 5nm SoC announced

HUAWEI today announced its flagship Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ smartphones in an online event as it had promised. The Mate 40 has a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED 90Hz screen and the Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ feature a 6.76-inch FHD+ OLED 88° Horizon Display with 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. These are powered by Kirin 9000 5G 5nm SoCs with dedicated NPUs and run Android 10 with EMUI 11.0 on top with HMS. Acer Chromebook Spin 513, Chromebook Enterprise Spin 513 and Porsche Design Acer Book RS laptops announced

Along with the many other laptops that Acer announced today, they also their first Chromebooks that feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c compute platform, which include the the convertible Acer Chromebook Spin 513 and Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 513. Acer also introduced the Acer Book RS, which was designed in collaboration with Porsche Design.

LG WING launching in India on October 28

LG unveiled its WING smartphone with a unique swivel screen last month, and started rolling it out from South Korea earlier this month. Today the company has sent out invites for the launch of the swivel screen phone in India on October 28th. The invite has #ExploretheNew tag and design of the phone is revealed as a shadow. iPhone 12 teardown confirms Snapdragon X55 5G modem; Apple to use Snapdragon X60, X65 and X70 modems in future iPhones

Apple introduced the iPhone 12 series smartphones with 5G support last week. A tear down video from China has confirmed that the phone uses Qualcomm SDX55 5G modem, which is X55 5G that is also used with Snapdragon 865. The iPhone 11 series used Intel XMM7660 4G mode. India smartphone market records 8% YoY growth in Q3 2020, shipping 50 million units: Canalys

After a sharp decline during Q2 2020, the Indian smartphone market has made a strong recovery in the third quarter of 2020, recording a growth of 8% YoY and shipping about 50 million units according to a report from Canalys. Xiaomi continues to lead the market, followed by Samsung, Vivo, realme and OPPO.

OPPO just launched A33, the company’s latest smartphone in the A series in India. It packs a 6.5-inch HD+ punch-hole display with 90Hz refresh rate, 120Hz touch sampling rate, 89.2% screen-to-body ratio, and an 8-megapixel front camera. Powered by Snapdragon 460, it runs ColorOS 7.2 with Android 10 on top and features 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Netflix to offer free trial weekend access plan in India to boost user sign-ups

One of India’s biggest streaming services, Netflix, is reportedly looking into announcing a new plan for their Indian customers, which is free access plan for a duration of a weekend.
