Asus may partner with Foxconn to manufacture smartphones in India

Asus is all set to join the “Make in India” initiative by starting manufacturing of smartphones in the country. The Taiwanese smartphone maker will foray into contract manufacturing for its mobile phones in India, as per a latest report from IANS.

Snapdeal has secured $500 million in latest round of funding from Alibaba, Foxconn and existing investor SoftBank, according to a latest report from Re/Code. The news comes after a WSJ report from June said that Alibaba and Foxconn are looking to invest in Snapdeal.

Airtel has launched its 4G LTE trails in Warangal, Telangana. It already launched 4G trails in Shillong, Rourkela, Tumkur, Manipal, Udupi, Hubli, Dharwad, Delhi, Hyderabad, Vizag, Madurai, Chennai, Coimbatore and Mumbai. After launching the successor Galaxy A8 in China last month, Samsung has now brought it to India and will start selling it from today across all retail and online channels at Rs. 32,500. In the Indian variant, Samsung has left out the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC and is using its own Exynos 5430 chipset. Rest of the specifications are same as the Chinese Galaxy A8. Samsung Galaxy A8 launched in India for Rs. 32500

Samsung has launched the Galaxy A8, the company’s latest top-end smartphone in its A series. It was announced earlier this month in China, packs a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with 2.5mm ultra-narrow bezels and runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop), but the Indian variant is powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 5430 processor instead of Snapdragon 615 SoC. It has a full metal uni-body design, similar to the other A series smartphones and is just 5.9mm thick. It also has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button.
