We reviewed the Xolo Black recently, which is the first smartphone in Xolo’s online-only Black series. Here we have the battery life test results of the smartphone. The Xolo Black packs a built-in 3200 mAh Li-Ion battery. It supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 1.0 that lets you charge 50% of battery in just 60 minutes. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and is powered by a 2nd generation Snapdragon 615 SoC. Let’s check out the results.

BlackBerry has launched Porsche Design P’9983 Graphite, its luxury smartphone in India. The Porsche Design P’9983 smartphone originally announced last September and the Graphite Edition was introduced back in April. It has colored elements and hand-wrapped leather on the back door cover. The keyboard has an exclusive keypad with specially crafted glass-like keys with the durability of rigid synthetic material, blackened glass and a graphite stainless steel color frame. Yahoo officially launched its Livetext video messaging app for Android and iPhone last month. Today it has launched the the app globally, including India. T allows you to send a short live video with text that does not have an audio. As you enter text, a live video starts and soon as your contact enters the chat you can see the person on the screen. Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in Sonipat. Airtel said that it had received great response during trail period in Ambala, Panipat, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal and Yamunanagar. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. For existing Airtel customers, the company is offering a complimentary upgrade to Airtel 4G at same price as 3G. Paytm has surpassed 100 million mobile wallet users in India who are carrying out 75 million transactions every month. The popular mobile commerce marketplace and digital wallet company claims that its wallet is now accepted by over 80,000 merchants across the country.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi 2 Prime, the company’s first smartphone that is Made in India. It is the enhanced version of the Redmi 2 that was launched in the country earlier this year. It is priced at Rs. 6,999 in the India and is currently on sale on Mi.com and across all Mi India partners including Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.

Philips has launched Xenium I908, a mid-range smartphone and the S309, a budget smartphone in India. The Philips I908 appeared on the official Philips India website last year and packs a 5-inch 1080p screen, 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Philips S309 has a 4-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.

XOLO Black is the first smartphone from XOLO that is part of the Black series of smartphones that are aimed at online retail markets. Calling the series Black and the smartphone Black as well makes it quite confusing for the customer and it will become more so when it is time to launch the next phone in the Black series. That is expected to be sometime soon as the company did state that it has plans to launch around 4 devices per year. We aren’t sure what naming scheme the company plans for the upcoming devices but what we do know is what the XOLO Black offers and it seems to offer plenty judging by its specifications sheet. International Data Corporation (IDC) on Tuesday published quarterly shipment data for the Asia Pacific region. As per their Quarterly Mobile Tracker for Q2 2015, India itself shipped 26.5 million smartphones this quarter, which is up by 44% from the 18.4 million units for the same period last year. BLU has launched Win JR LTE and Win HD LTE Windows 8.1 smartphones on Snapdeal in India. Both these are powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC. The Win JR LTE has a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS screen and the Win HD LTE has a 5-inch HD screen based on one-glass-solution (OGS) technology. Both these have dual SIM support with support for 4G TDD LTE Bands 38 and 40 and FDD-LTE bands 3,7 and 20. Asus Zenfone Go surfaced back in July and it was expected to launch at the Asus ZenFestival in India last week, but the company did not launch the smartphone at the event. Now it has appeared on the official Asus India website and Flipkart. As we already know, the Zenfone Go packs a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 SoC and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop).
