Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in Pondicherry. It launched 4G services in 296 towns across India last week, after running 4G LTE trails in the country. Airtel said that it had received great response in Chennai, Vellore, Trichy, Madurai and Coimbatore. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. Oppo has launched Mirror 5 smartphone, the company’s latest smartphone in India. It was announced last month and packs a 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD display, is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit SoC, runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Color OS 2.1 ROM, has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Xiaomi already announced that it will introduce the MIUI 7 at an event in Beijing, China on August 13th. Today the company has announced the MIUI 7 launch premier in New Delhi where Xiaomi’s Vice President Hugo Barra will demo new features of the MIUI 7. Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 2 Prime, the company’s latest budget smartphone that is Made in India. This smartphone is manufactured at Xiaomi and Foxconn facility in Andhra Pradesh. This is the enhanced version of the Redmi 2 that was launched in the country earlier this year. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Other specifications are similar, including a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and 4G LTE with support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India.

Xiaomi has just launched its first ‘Make in India’ smartphone dubbed the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime. The smartphone was briefly listed by Amazon and Flipkart last week revealing all the specifications. Though the Redmi 2 Prime is only a 2GB RAM variant of the original Redmi 2, the highlight of the smartphone is that it has been manufactured in India at Xiaomi and Foxconn facility in Andhra Pradesh.
Panasonic has launched Eluga Icon, the company’s latest smartphone with 4G support in India. It has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS OGS display, is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core 64-bit processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with with ICON UI. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and support for 4G TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India.
