HTC today launched its flagship U11 smartphone in India, as it had promised. It was introduced last month and packs a 5.5-inch Quad HD 3D glass screen on the front and 3D glass on the back as well, is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). It is also dust and water-resistant with IP67 ratings and has Edge Sensor for new squeeze interaction. India’s wearable market is dominated by sub $50 segment in CY Q1 2017: IDC

Total shipments wearables in India hit 612K units, of which includes smart wearables, that can run third-party apps, and basic wearables which cannot run third-party apps, according to the latest IDC Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Tracker, CY Q1 2017. In terms of product category, basic wearables accounted for almost 90 percent of total wearable shipments in Q1 2017.
