OPPO’s sub-brand Realme launched the Realme 2, the company’s second-generation smartphone in India last week starting at Rs. 8990. It went on sale for the first time on Flipkart at 12PM today. Realme today launched the Realme 2, the company’s second-generation smartphone as it had promised. It has a 6.2-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch and 88.8% screen-to-body ratio, Snapdragon 450 SoC with up to 4GB RAM, ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo), 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera for portrait shot and 8-megapixel front camera with AI beautify features that intelligently recognizes 296 facial features as well as face unlock. It has similar specifications as the OPPO A5 which was launched last week.
Realme already announced that the Realme 2 smartphone will be launched on August 28th. Today Flipkart has confirmed that it will be available exclusively with them and also said that it will be one of the first companies to offer a notch screen under Rs. 10,000. Update – August 23: Qualcomm India has confirmed that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon Mobile Platform. The Realme 1 was powered by MediaTek Helio P60 SoC. Realme also confirmed that the phone will feature a 6.2-inch display with 88.8% screen-to-body ratio, compared to 6-inch display with 75.7% screen-to-body ratio on the Realme 1. Based on Flipkart’s teasers the phone will be exclusively available with them. The Realme 1 was launched exclusively on Amazon.in.
After three months of launch of Realme 1, the company has started teasing the Realme 2 with a notch. The company has also teased dual rear cameras for the smartphone.
