Google acknowledges it is responsible for UIDAI helpline number added to Android phonebook, will roll out a fix soon

This week Android users in India reported Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) toll-free helpline number saved in their phonebook automatically. After a sudden uproar on Twitter, UIDAI responded saying that it has not asked or communicated with any manufacturer or service provider for providing any such facility and the said ‘18003001947’ is outdated and invalid UIDAI toll-free number. Asus today teased the launch of a new laptop in India on August 13th. According to the teaser and the official listing on Asus India website, it is confirmed that it will be ZenBook Pro 15, which was introduced at the Computex in June. This has a 5.5-inch Full HD resolution ScreenPad, an interactive display that intelligently adapt to match whatever you’re doing, making it easier and quicker to multitask and get things done. It can change functions automatically when you switch apps, and you can create your own shortcuts.

UIDAI says it has not asked telcos to save toll-free number in phonebooks

Several Android and some iOS users in India are reporting about the sudden Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) toll-free helpline number being saved in their contacts by default. UIDAI has replaced the helpline number with new 1800-300-1947 that got into people’s phonebooks without their consent. Both the phones have a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, run Android 8.1 (Oreo) with secured DTEK app and feature a 16-megapixel front camera. The Evolve is powered by Snapdragon 450 with 4GB of RAM and dual 13-megapixel rear cameras, while the EvolveX is powered by Snapdragon 660 with 6GB of RAM, and has a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 13-megapixel camera with real-time depth of field effect for portrait shots. Netflix original series Baahubali: Before the Beginning, prequel to Baahubali movies announced

A year after Amazon Prime Video released Baahubali: The Lost Legends, an animated series in India, Netflix today announced a new Netflix original series – Baahubali: Before the Beginning, a prequel to Baahubali: the Beginning and Baahubali: the Conclusion movies. This will be based on Anand Neelakantan’s book, The Rise of Sivagami, and the first season will have 9 episodes, and Netflix has ordered two seasons. Mobiistar C1 Lite, C1, C2, E1 Selfie and X1 Dual launched in India for offline market starting at Rs. 4340

Vietnam-based Mobiistar forayed into the Indian market with the XQ Dual and CQ selfie smartphones back in May. Today it has launched five new selfie smartphones – C1 Lite, C1, C2, E1 Selfie and X1 Dual in the country for the offline market. The company did not share the SoC details and Android version for most of the smartphones, we will update the article when we get them. TRAI releases 4G and 5G spectrum recommendations, price for next auction

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) just released recommendations on Auction of Spectrum in 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz, including 5G spectrum – 3300-3400 MHz and 3400-3600 MHz bands after the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) requested TRAI to provide applicable reserve price, quantum of spectrum to be auctioned and associated conditions for auction of spectrum.
