Search for N Contest Winners Announced

The Search for N Contest to Win a N97 has officially come to an end at 8 am today. Nokia India has picked the 2 winners from each website. The winners will be contacted by Nokia by SMS and Email. Here are the 2 two lucky winners from FoneArena.

Nokia N86 8MP vs N82 Camera Comparison

Today at the Nokia N86 8MP launch event , i had the chance to take a pics with both the N86 and its sibling the N82.  It was not a photo studio so the conditions were not perfect for a comparison.  So the results might not be that accurate. I just could not resist comparing the two phones as the N86 was first seen as a N82 upgrade with a Xenon flash. But then it went the N85 way !

Nokia N86 8MP Camera Samples and HD Video from Launch Event

I had the chance to play with the Nokia N86 8MP at the launch event in chennai , india. I took some pics to test the much talked about Camera of the N86. I managed to even take a shot from my old N82 just in case to compare  the improvement in image quality. The above pic was shot with the N86 , they were the Models present at the N86 launch.

Nokia N86 8MP launched in Chennai , available in stores in India

We are at the Nokia N86 8MP Launch event in Chennai. Nokia launched its latest high end camera phone the N86 8MP. The venue had lots of pictures in the entrance, all of them clicked with the same phone itself. We were allowed to play with the phone for a short time and we took tons of pics using the phone. We even compared pics taken by the N82 with the N86 which will be uploaded soon.

I am really excited about watching movies on its 16×9 inch screen.Also the tile angle of the screen seems interesting.

The Nokia N97 QWERTY Keyboard

Welcome to Day 4 of Search for N Contest to win Nokia N97. The N97 has a revolutionary keyboard.

Today’s question : What are the first six letters in the modern day keyboard layout ? There are a lot of interesting things about the keyboard on the phone.Its got 3 rows of keys which are nicely spaced apart.The first question I asked N97 Designer, Axel Meyer was about the space bar on the QWERTY keypad.The space bar is pretty tiny and finds it place on the right side. Normally one would expect a larger spacebar and also positioned at the center. But Axel suggested that I use the keyboard for a while and see how it worked. After I used the space bar on the right, i actually found it easy to use. It seems that this new keyboard follows haptics effectively(Haptics is study of human touching behaviour)

Nokia N97 to be available on EMI to HDFC and Citibank Customers

Nokia is doing a multi-city launch for the Nokia N97. After it was launched in Delhi, now it has been launched in Kolkata by Bollywood Actor Rahul Bose. The exact price of the phone has not been revealed even now . But when we contacted a Nokia Concept Store in Chennai, they hinted at a price of Rs.36,000 approx. In order to justify this price and also make it lighter on consumer pockets , Nokia is going to offer EMI options to N97 customers and has tied up with HDFC and Citibank to provide a 3 month EMI option at 0 % interest in select cities. Apple iPhone 3GS vs iPhone 3G

Well Apple have now announced the updated version of the Apple iPhone 3G called the iPhone 3G S, the “S” stands for speed.

The handset looks almost identical to the previous model however in terms of usage, it’s nearly four times faster than before. The handset supports HSDPA upto 7.2Mbps.

Apple iPhone 3.0 Software Update Screenshots and Camera Samples

I was lucky to get iPhone 3.0 running on a  first gen iPhone. Here are some screen shots and camera samples of the phone running 3.0. Cut Copy Paste has finally appeared.Some users are also reporting better battery life on the 3.0 firmware. One cool feature is Shake to Undo Redo typing . There are close to 100 pictures in this gallery and I have tried to show most of the updates present in the new firmware. If I have missed anything let me know !
