Simmtronics has launched XPAD X-801, their new Android tablet with 2G SIM card slot and voice calling support. The company launched the XPAD X-720, their first tablet with a 7-inch display in India last month. The XPAD X-801 has a 8-inch (800 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 2MP rear camera, and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes with pre-loaded apps such as Youtube, PDF file viewer, Documents To Go, Sound Recorder, Skype and more. Zen Ultraphone U4 Dual SIM Android phone with 4.3-inch display launched for Rs. 6499

Zen Mobiles has launched Ultraphone U4, successor of the Ultraphone U1. It has a 4.3-inch (800 × 480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, but most of the specifications are similar to the Ultraphone U4, including a Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, 1 GHz processor and 2G / GRPS support. It comes with a 3.2MP camera with flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes pre-loaded with apps such as Facebook, twitter and opera mini. Byond Mi-book Mi7 with 3G, Voice calling, Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 11499

Byond Tech has launched Mi-book Mi7, the company’s first 7-inch tablet with 3G support and voice calling features. Byond launched Mi-book Mi5 , a 7-inch tablet last year with 2G voice calling support last year, but the Mi-book Mi7 has a better 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive 5-point multi-touch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and comes with a 2MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera. It also comes pre-loaded with office suite.

Videocon VT10 10-inch tablet officially launched for Rs. 10999


Videocon has officially launched the VT10 10-inch Android Jelly Bean tablet in India. It went on sale from online retailers Snapdeal and HomeShop18 last week. It has a 10-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) capacitive multi-touch IPS display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2MP Front Camera and a 2MP Rear Camera. Spice has entered into the tablet market with the launch of the Stellar Pad Mi-1010 in India that runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core processor with Quadcore GPU. It has a 3MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. Chennai Airport prepares for paperless tickets using smartphones, tablets and laptops

Just after the BCAS(Bureau of Civil aviation Security) announced that, like the Indian Railways, Airports in India can accept tickets on phone or any computing device, the Chennai Airport has started preparations for the same. If implemented, passengers will be permitted into terminal buildings with tickets in digital form, but the boarding pass will still have to be paper once checked in.

Samsung has cut the price of the Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Ace Duos in India, just in time for the new year. The Samsung Galaxy S3 got a price cut to Rs. 34,900 back in September, now the device is available for Rs. 31,900 after the recent price cut. It was launched in India in May for a MRP of Rs. 43,180. Even the 32GB version of the Galaxy S3 got a price to Rs. 34,900. The Galaxy Note got a price cut to Rs. 29990 back in September, now the device is available for Rs. 27,500 after the recent price cut. LG Optimus 2X Android 4.0 update now available in India

LG Optimus 2X (LGP990) users have finally received the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update in India. LG started rolling out the ICS update for Korean users back in August and for European users, earlier this month. The LG Optimus 2X launched in India last April with Android 2.2 (Froyo) on-board and later received the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) back in November. Micromax A101 with 1GHz dual-core processor now available for Rs. 9999

Micromax A101, an upgraded version of the Micromax A100 is now available in India from online retailers Snapdeal and Flipkart. Even though the Micromax A110 that was officially launched last month has better specifications, the A101 comes with almost similar features as the A100 but has a slightly improved 2100 mAh battery. It comes with a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) WVGA display instead of a FWGA display on the A100 and the A100 and also comes with four capactive touch buttons at the bottom. Karbonn Smart Tab 8 with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 now available for Rs. 7025

Karbonn Smart Tab 8, a new Android tablet in the Smart Tab range is now available online from Saholic. The Karbonn Smart Tab 8 (Velox) comes with a 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8.0-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display, 3MP rear  camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The company launched Smart Tab 10 10-inch tablet with a similar processor and Android 4.1 OS few weeks back and launched the Smart Tab 9 and Smart Tab 3 back in October.
