The number 5 seems to be quite problematic for the Koreans. Samsung faced some of the worst reviews ever for a flagship product and one of the worst sales performance in their flagship Galaxy S line-up with the S5. The S5 did bring in some improvements but those were minor and in the process almost made some bad decisions including larger bezels etc. All these small things led to very disappointing sales figures and Samsung knew that had to start afresh. Project Zero was born and eventually resulted in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices which were a huge leap from their preceding model. They were a step in the right direction and Samsung has been doing everything perfectly well with their smartphones since except for the Note7 battery exploding issues which did shake things up a bit but still resulted in one of the most profitable years for Samsung with the S7 series. The HTC 10 Evo launched back a couple of months back wasn’t much of an upgrade over the 10 and offered little reason for users to upgrade. With the U Ultra, the company has adopted a somewhat refreshed design though the device is unmistakably an HTC. What is more interesting is that HTC isn’t really calling this its flagship and maintains that it still has a lot more under its sleeve. Depending on who you speak to, wearables and in particular smartwatches are a failed category. The pace of fresh launches has slowed down to a trickle and smartwatches just haven’t quite caught the market by storm the way they were expected to. An over-dependence on a paired phone, little use beyond notifications has made these a tough sell. Asus Zenbook 3 Review

The convergence of technology has led to many beautiful innovations in terms of gadgets. While smartphones have come a long way in terms of providing almost everything that a user needs to get their work done, there are times that you still need a laptop to get things done just that much quicker and better. However, up until the introduction of the original Macbook Air, laptops were definitely a big deal to carry around. They were thick, bulky and at the end of the day could potentially give you severe backache. The Macbook Air changed all that. It showed how easy and effortless it can be to carry around a laptop. This brought about the Ultrabook era with most manufacturers pushing for thinner and lighter designs while trying to increase functionality. Despite all this, it would be difficult to say that Windows offering have been superior because they weren’t. Apple broke barriers again with the new Macbook that did everything the original Air promised to do and more in a smaller form factor which was considered to be near impossible. Since then, many manufacturers have been trying to play catch up and now with the Asus Zenbook 3, we possibly have one that can not just catch up but also lead the race. Let’s take a look at how far we’ve come with compact computing.
