Huawei’s Honor brand introduced Honor 9 flagship smartphone in China earlier this month. Today at an event in Berlin, the company introduced the smartphone for global markets. To remind you, it packs a 5.15-inch 1080p curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Huawei Kirin 960, has up to 6GB of RAM, runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with EMUI 5.1 and a 20-megapixel rear camera along with a 12-megapixel camera for 2x hybrid zoom and laser autofocus for quick focus. Lenovo K6 Power and K6 Note Android 7.0 Nougat update starts rolling out in India

Lenovo launched the K6 Power smartphone back in November last year and launched the K6 Note in December, both running Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). It also launched 4GB RAM version of the K6 Power. Today the company has announced that it has started rolling out Android 7.0 (Nougat) update for both the smartphone, as it had promised.

Google to end Android Market support for Android 2.1 Eclair and older

Google is ending support for the Android Market app on Android 2.1 Eclair and older devices on June 30, 2017. When this change happens, users on these devices will no longer be able to access, or install other apps from, the Android Market. The Android Market was replaced by Google Play in 2012.

Yota Devices is back with their third smartphone after over 3 years. It introduced the YotaPhone 3 at the Russian-Chinese Expo. Even through the officially specifications have not been revealed, the smartphone is said to pack a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display, will be powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and will run Android Nouat. It has a full-touch control on its 5.2-inch HD always-on electronic paper display (EPD) on the other side. Microsoft’s AI-powered Pix app for iPhone updated with Prisma-like filters

Microsoft has updated its AI-powered Pix camera app with filters similar to Prisma. The feature was developed in collaboration with Microsoft’s Asia research lab and Skype. Pix Styles, transforms pictures into styles inspired by popular works of art or adds an effect such as making the picture look like it is on fire.

OPPO today announced OPPO R11 and R11 Plus smartphones at an event in China. The R11 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display with 1.6mm narrow bezels and 77% screen-to-body ratio and the R11 Plus comes with a 6-inch 1080p display. Both these have a 16-megapixel camera with wide-angle lens (f/1.7) and a 20-megapixel secondary camera with telephoto lens (f/2.6) along with Qualcomm’s Spectra 160 ISP for optical zoom, Hybrid Autofocus and other camera features.
