Google Search 4.0 for iOS brings improved Google Now and Voice Search

Google has enhanced offering on its iOS app and added several features. The recent 4.0 updates brings improved voice question capabilities that allows users to ask Google basic questions like “What is the weather” and so on. Conversations are initiated with “Ok Google” command. This feature was already available on Android devices.

Xolo plans to roll out Android 4.4 KitKat update for Q700S, Q1010i, Q1010 and Q3000 by June

Xolo released the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Q1000 Opus recently, skipping the Android 4.3 update. Today, the company has announced that it would release Android KitKat update for Q700S, Q1010i, Q1010, Q3000 and more smartphones by June 2014. Motorola Moto G Ferrari Edition with Kevlar back goes official

Motorola unveiled the Moto E, a budget smartphone and Moto G LTE yesterday. It also announced the rumored Moto G Ferrari Edition for Mexico. NTT Docomo unveils 12 new devices, to launch VoLTE service in June

NTT Docomo has announced 12 new devices in their summer lineup. The company also announced that it would roll out Japan’s first Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) service beginning late-June. This would require Xi (read “crossy”) network that would offer high-quality voice and video calls also enable user receive Area Mail disaster-information notifications while making VoLTE voice/video calls. Huawei Ascend G6 and Ascend G750 launched in India for Rs. 16999 and Rs. 24999

Huawei also launched the Ascend G6 and the Ascend G750 in India along with the Honor 3C. Huawei Honor 3C launched in India for Rs. 14999

Huawei has launched the Honor 3C, the company’s latest smartphone in the Honor series. It was unveiled back in December last year and packs a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LTPS screen, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei’s own Emotion UI 2.0 on top. Popcorn Time is now available on Android

Popcorn time, a popular and upcoming streaming service for pirated movies and TV shows, has just launched itself as an app on Android. The app has already been pulled from the Google Play store but the APK has been made available on the service’s website, which already caters to the desktop platforms with respective apps. Touted to be a Netflix-like service for pirated content, the platform is based on a P2P network, and so, it manages to stay up, using the longstanding copyright loophole that the service doesn’t host content, but the many of its anonymous users do. This is very much like a torrent service, but you can stream the movies instead of downloading them. All the movies are available in 720p and 1080p as streams and it is possible to even choose different streams on the service. Anyway, here is a video of the app announcement –

Sony unveiled the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) for NTT Docomo in the Winter 2013 range, ahead of its international variant, Z1 Compact last year. Today Sony has announced the Xperia A2 (SO-04F), a slightly enhanced variant of the Xperia Z1f and the successor of the Xperia A (SO-04E) in their 2014 Summer lineup. It has the same 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor that we had seen on the Z1 Compact, but this runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. Spotify finally gets a makeover on Windows Phone with new UI and features

Spotify, one of the world’s leading streaming music services, has long neglected the Windows Phone platform, even when it already had an archaic version for the yesteryear Windows Phone 7 operating system, but times are a changing. A much needed makeover has finally happened and the update is now available for all Windows Phone 8 users. The update not only includes a visual makeover, but also new features of the service like “Spotify Radio”, a Pandora-like auto-recommendations. But the biggest catch is, the app still requires you to have a premium account, whereas free streaming is available on other platforms since the end of last year. We should hopefully see another update to address this issue.

HTC shows whats coming in Sense 6.0 update for HTC One smartphones

Ahead of releasing the Sense 6.0 update for the HTC One series of smartphones that were launched last year, HTC has given us details about what to expect in the latest update on their official website. According to the information furnished by HTC, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update along with Sense 6.0 is in the final stages for most carriers is expected soon.
