Nokia announced last week that they would launch HTML5-based HERE Maps app for Android and iOS. Now the HERE Maps is available for iPhone and iPad users. This uses NAVTEQ mapping data and lets you explore and search places easily. It also offers live traffic view, public transport line, driving directions, voice navigation, option to save maps data for offline use and more.

Rovio, the creator of Angry birds has released Angry Birds Star Wars for Android, iPhone and iPad as they announced last month. They launched the Bad Pigges game that had the pigs from Angry Birds franchise with completely different plot. Facebook for iPhone and iPad has been updated to version 5.1 that brings new features including new upload UI to select multiple photos or videos at once, photo filters, new messaging features including option to quickly see who is online to chat, manage favorite friends and more. Some of these features were available in the version 1.9.8 and version 1.9.10 updates, but the photo filters is not available on the Android app yet. Apple unveiled the iPad mini with a 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display at 163 ppi and a dual-core A5 processor last month. I got some hands-on time with the WiFi version of the iPad mini. It went on pre-order on October 26th in over 30 countries and the WiFi version goes on sale in those countries today (November 2nd) and the WiFi + Cellular version would be available by mid-November. Rockstar Games is celebrating their 10th anniversary of their popular Game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. To commemorate this they would launch GTA Vice City for select iOS and Android devices this fall. They launched their popular game, Grand Theft Auto III for Android and iOS last December. The GTA Vice City is inspired from 1980s American culture and is set in 1986 in Vice City, a fictional city modeled after Miami. The iPad Mini WiFi version would go on sale on November 2nd, while the WiFi+Cellular models will go on sale in mid-November first in the US on AT&T , Verizon and Sprint.
