HMD global has started rolling out Oreo beta update for the Nokia 6 last month, but it was not available in India at that time. Today it has started rolling out the update for the Indian users of the phone, as it had promised after a couple of improvements. Moto G4 Play finally gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat update

When all the phones are getting Android 8.0 (Oreo), Motorola has started rolling out Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) update for the Moto G4 Play smartphone staring from Brazil. It  was launched back in 2016 running Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), but it did not get the Android 7.0 update and is directly being updated to 7.1.1, months after the soak test. Samsung is currently beta testing the Oreo build for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and the stable update is due for later this month, and now when no one was expecting, a Note8 Exynos variant has randomly got the Oreo update according to a Samsung retail store employee. Nokia 6 (2018) with 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 630, 4GB RAM, metal body announced

HMD Global today announced Nokia 6 (2018), the company’s latest mid-range smartphone and the successor of last year’s Nokia 6, smartphone in China, as expected. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, is powered by Snapdragon 630 Mobile platform, runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), which is upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo), has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

Pixel 2 Portrait mode ported to non-Google devices running Android Oreo

Among the many other features the newly launched Pixel 2 series rock, Portrait mode surely caught the attention. Micromax said to launch Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone this January for Rs. 2000

Android Oreo (Go Edition) is Google’s trim down version of Android for low-cost phones with 512MB to 1GB RAM. The company announced the project back in May and said that it would be available from early 2018. The company is all set to launch the first phone in India in partnership with Micromax later this month, according to a new report. Lenovo K320t with 5.7-inch full-screen display, Dual rear cameras announced

Lenovo has silently introduced K320t, the company’s latest budget smartphone and its first smartphone with full-screen 18:9 display and dual rear cameras in China. It was certified by TENAA last month, packs  a 5.7-inch HD+ screen with 81.4% screen-to-body ratio and comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera to capture the depth information. OnePlus 5 gets Face Unlock with latest open beta update

Last week OnePlus rolled out the OxygenOS 5.0 Android 8.0 Oreo stable update for the OnePlus 5 smartphone, and as promised the company has rolled out Face Unlock feature with the latest Open Beta 3 update for the smartphone, soon after the second beta that rolled out a couple of weeks back. OnePlus has released new ‘Switch’ app that lets you quickly migrate from your old phone to a new OnePlus device. The app was announced at the OnePlus 5T launch and is compatible with Android phones running Lollipop (5.0) or higher and it can transfer contacts, SMS messages, call logs, calendars, photos, videos, audio, and apps. Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.0 Oreo stable update starts rolling out

Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 Android One smartphone in India back in September running stock Android 7.1 (Nougat) in partnership with Google. After beta testing the update earlier this month, Xiaomi has started rolling out stable update for all the users today, just before the year ends, as it had promised at the launch. Nokia 2 to get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly, will include memory management features

HMD Global’s Chief product officer Juho Sarvikas‏ has confirmed that Nokia 2 will get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly skipping 8.0 update. He hasn’t given any time frame but said that most of the Android 8.1 features would be available, including the memory management improvements, which is needed since the phone has only 1GB of RAM.
